4. 4. Box Overview – Pros  Awesome product super easy to use.  Well worth the cost.  It’s simple and the interface and product is EASY and user friendly in every way.  Huge Data (10 GB) in free plan: Its free plan comes with 10 GB!  Cross-platform desktop and mobile: Box is available for Windows, OS X, iOS, Android, BlackBerry and Windows Phones.  Extendable via plugins: There are plug-ins for applications that allow interactions with Box.  Salesforce and NetSuite support  Sharing and privacy features built for business and IT users: Such as advanced sharing options, task assignment, notifications. Making an easy way to stay up to date on assigned tasks.
  5. 5. Box Overview – Cons  Box is now a flawless program, but the lags behind due to slow internet connection.  Browsing tends to be slow at times and users that are not in-house are given read-only access to the files library, but Box remains an excellent robust solution for my needs.  Log in on every use: Any time the app is opened the user's log-in needs to be typed in, which can become annoying. While it is a nice privacy feature, an option to turn it off would be nice.  No Linux client: They are not willing to listen to Linux community. They've also deleted a bunch of messages from Linux users on their forum.  Missing collaborative apps: Not being able to easily back up office works through an integrated office suite can be a set back when comparing to backup apps like Drive. While you can set certain apps to save their files to the Box folder, it is not as easy as using something like Google Docs, which not only saves while you are working but as soon as you are done, with no extra steps.
  6. 6. OneDrive Overview  OneDrive is a secure access, sharing & file storage solution which enables users to store & share photos, videos, documents etc.  It’s a Software App easy to manage and share Documents from anywhere and work together in real time on your favorite devices.  It’s packed with Collaboration Tools and Users get up to 1TB Storage for a reasonable price.  Integral part of Office 365 or SharePoint Server - Provides place in the cloud to store, share, and sync your work files.  Update and share your files from any device.  Work on Office documents with others at the same time.  If you use Office 365 with OneDrive, you can share a file to edit collaboratively in real time.
  7. 7. OneDrive Overview – Pros  It is so easy to set up and it does everything itself after that, I love it.  Easy to install and to use. Easy to save and open somewhere else.  Integrates with Microsoft Office software: It integrates with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc as if you were using OneDrive locally.  No setup for Windows 8/8.1/10: OneDrive is already built in your system and can be accessed via file explorer for all End Users who use Windows 8 or later.  Share files and folders easily: You can choose what files and folders to share with other people then send them a link.  Photos taken with a smartphone can be set to automatically upload to OneDrive: When Android, iOS and Windows Phone users take a photo with their phone it can be set to automatically upload to OneDrive via app.  Offers 15GB of storage for free.  1TB storage for Office 365 users.
  8. 8. OneDrive Overview – Cons  OneDrive is a great product, but lacks some of the features of Google Drive which is a competing cloud storage service.  OneDrive works very well, but I would say that the one con is the fact that it sometimes gives you too much data from the server, and it can take up a lot of your local drive space.  No client for Linux  Online OneDrive are slow: Compared to other cloud storage, the web interface of Onedrive is slow. It got a slight delay on every action like opening a folder, delete, etc.  Recycle bin doesn't support replace  Time limit for inactivity: Based on OneDrive's terms of service, no account login within one year will be automatically terminated.  Strictest code of duct: Terms of Service forbid any kind of nudity, or that incites, advocates, or expresses pornography or racism among other things.

  11. 11. Solution Planned  Migrate Box to OneDrive for a Better File Share Collaboration and Management.  Migrate all the Box Content without any Users to SharePoint Online Environment with respective Categorizations  Migration Tool Proposed: Mover.Io Tool.  Mover is a 100% free service.  When a file/content is transferred, a temporary copy is downloaded from Box to a temporary server and then uploaded to OneDrive for Business.  Upon successful upload, that file is deleted from the temporary server.  When the migration is completed, that temporary server is destroyed.
