2. LONG DESCRIPTION OF THE ACTIVITY:
We are going to develop four tasks in order to do a whole activity during five weeks
as you can see in the previous timetable, according to the three hours of English
that students have in Primary Education.
First of all, we are going to explain them what are
the different parts of the narration. For that, we are
going to use some books that children love, as
examples. Children are going to identify what are
the different parts located.
Students will be divided into different groups composed by 5 members and then,
teachers will explain them how to create an account in WordPress because they
must publish all the activities that they will do in class. Throught their blogs,
teachers will evaluate their work.
The first task that they have to do is to find a image with creative commons license
for describing it in thinglink. After that, they must publish the link in their respective
blog. With this first activity they are practising the description.
Once children have chosen a photo and described it, they have to choose an
slogan related to the previous image that they have described. It can be from their
neighborhood, classroom or from Internet. They have to draw it using the
APPs DRAW.
After that, they have to use EVERNOTE in order to write a piece of news about the
slogan that they have found. The character of the piece of news and the slogan has
to be the same as the previous image.
After children have already done the previous activities, they have to create a story
using TU CUENTO and then publish it in the blog. To create the story, they must
use the same characters of the previous activities, but they have to change the
meaning of the slogan and the piece of news. Doing this task, children are using
narration, according to the past and present tenses and the parts of the narration
3. that we have explained to them before (Presentation of characters, places and
time; Initial Event; Action; Outcome).
Throughout the activity of the story, children will discover how a story can change in
every moment. They can notice the perception of time (past and present).
Just to finish, we have prepared a questionnaire in order that each group evaluate
the others. It is composed by simple questions about the work that other groups
have done. By this way teachers could notice the perception that children have
about the work of other classmates and also, it will serve as a way for teachers to
improve in their next activities.
According with this activity, we can evaluate the team work of students, the
capacity of discovering new concepts and things and also the communication.
