• The Oktoberfest is the world largest fair.
• With over 6 million from around the world attending it
every year (7 million in 2011).

• This year (2013) is the 180th Oktoberfest.
•

• The Oktoberfest is on a ground of 72 hectare (the size of the
Theresienwiese)
•
• In 16 days, around 6.6 million liters Beer were sell.

3. The Beer
Only 6 Breweries are allowed to sell their Beer on the Oktoberfest.
They make a special Beer called „Wiesn-Märzen“ only for the Oktoberfest.

4. The Tents
There are 14 big tents and 21 little ones. The most famous tents are:

5. „Die Mass“
A Mass= 1 Liter Beer
It‘s the normal size you will find in the tents. The waitresses
are really good. They can have 12 Mass in both hands!
The price of 1 Liter Beer is
around 9 Euro this year.

6. Dirndl & Lederhosen
They are the traditinal bavarian Outfits. You will see lots of them if you are in Munich
during the Oktoberfest!

7. IMPORTANT!!!!If you wear a Dirndl, or you see a girl wearing one, remind this:
The Side of the ribbon has a special meaning!
On her right: married or
taken
In the middle:
undecided

8. Security (for girls and women)
There are a lot of drunk people on the Oktoberfest and it‘s
not 100% safe. If you ore somebody else is attacked, call the
police. There should be everywere. If you need some help, go
to the Security Check point for girls and women. They will
help you.
