“The Little Big Project” is a Volunteer Tourism campaign funded by the
Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), to inspire worldwide travelers to take
a Volunteer vacation in Thailand. This will give you an opportunity to do
something meaningful while on holiday, You will be amazed how little can
make such a BIG difference, and to have a life changing experience for
yourself and make a better world for others.

3. 1. Activity : Responsible Eco-Tourism and Marine Conservation, Phuket
Provider:
About : Eco-tourism Volunteers in this project in Phuket contribute to sustainable
eco-tourism and wildlifeconservation in marine projects. They have the rare opportunity
to observe a wide variety of Thai marine life, including turtles, manta rays, moray eels,
sharks,coral fish and corals. These projects are suitable for volunteers interested in
helping local communities preserve marine wildlife and to gain an extra income in doing
so. Skilled divers may participate in dive surveys.
2. Activity : Community Development along the Beach, Phang Nga
Provider:
About : Andaman Discoveries is continuing to reach out to conscientious travelers,
making it possible to have a meaningful village experience through exceptional
serviceandcomprehensivesupportmaterials.Their14-dayvolunteersgivetravellersthe

About : As a volunteer you will start every day by attending a lecture on your course of
action for the day. Following this you will proceed to your diving duties; whilst diving you
will be responsible for identifying species, monitoring the reefs, underwater clean-ups,
and reef restoration.

About : Volunteers will plan and lead activities with children in orphanages and
rescuecenters.ActivitiesmightincludeteachingEnglish,reading,artsandcrafts,sports

children who are often starved of such basic necessities. The children’s program is
always combined with community development tasks that will directly benefit the

classrooms, sleeping quarters, refurbished rooms and other structures inorphanages,
painted murals, constructed and managed community gardens, planted fruit trees, and
much more.

About: Our volunteers aim to provide support to the rural people of Thailand by provid-
ing medical care all year round as in Thai rural areas people either have very less access
or no access at all to medical assistance. Sometime they don’t even have the money
to pay the transportation to the clinics leave paying for their medical services which our
volunteers provide them at their door. Our volunteers work alongside existing medical
service providers such as the local hospital and the satellite health clinics.

About: Manual support and development is essential to increase the standards of living
for the rural and hill tribe communities of Northern Thailand. Your duties on the project
will be to assist in the areas which are in need of hands on work. This may include
building water tanks, checking dams, building and painting classrooms, assisting
in the agricultural project, developing the vegetable garden, working on a plantation,
helpingwithroadrepairs,workingonthemaintenanceofelderlyvillagershomes,building

RESCUED WILDLIFE
1.Activity: Caring for rescued wildlife, Petchburi
Provider:
About: the Wildlife Center program you get the chance to learn about many different
species of wildlife, and get to know the stories behind the animals. We have a strict
hands-off policy with the animals, but you do get the chance to get to know their individual
behavior and quirks.
At the Elephant Refuge Program you help take care of the elephants with the permanent
staff. This involves preparing the fruit bowls, harvesting the banana trees and pineapple
plants, cleaning their enclosures, and, the most fun, showering the elephants and taking
them on their walks.

project, ISV volunteers do more than just work with animals. Volunteers have
also spent time helping to educate tourists and locals along popular tourist
beaches, visiting local schools and reaching out to communities. In Hill Tribe
villages, volunteers assist with community development projects (building roads, toilet
blocks, water tanks, etc.), educating local communities (e.g., teaching English,
educatingabout illegal poaching, conservation and humane animal practices, etc.) and
