grid, telecom towers are classified into following three categories:
 Reliable Grid Telecom Tower: Telecom tower with reliable access to power supply on telecom tower site
and use diesel-based generators for back-up are termed as reliable grid telecom tower.
 Unreliable Grid Telecom Tower: Telecom tower with unreliable access to power supply on telecom tower
site, and is highly dependent on diesel-based generator sets for back-up, especially in rural areas, are
termed as unreliable grid telecom tower.
 Off-Grid Telecom Towers: Telecom tower with an access to renewable sources of energy for power supply
are off-grid telecom towers. Such towers use solar, wind, fuel cells, biomass, etc., as the sources of energy
for power generation. Majority of the sites depend on solar cells for power generation. Moreover, these sites
use fuel cells and diesel-based generators for power supply back-up as well.
