MITX interviews Episend about their rich media messaging platform that earned their Technology Awards nomination.

2. How do you feel about being named a finalist in the 2010 Tech Awards? I am thrilled that MITX recognized my work as part of a one-person company along with companies much larger. They really judge on a level playing field.

3. If you could describe your innovation in one succinct sentence, how would you describe yourself? Episend enables the average person to leverage the cloud and easily send anything to anyone.

4. How was your company founded, and what inspired its creation? I worked on Episend every night and weekend for over two years to address what I viewed as a big and basic need online: it is very difficult to get files, photos, and videos to other people and control who has access to them. Episend has ended up being a useful tool that allows people to create attractive rich media messages that serve as a transport for any type of file.

5. What makes your company different from other companies in your market space? Episend competes with large file sharing services, to a certain extent. It also has social networking features which make it much different than those services and more similar to Facebook, Flickr, or other sites where you can share images or videos.

6. What has been your company's greatest accomplishment in the past year? Definitely finally completing the product and launching at the end of February. It alleviated all of the pressure to finish the product and introduced a whole bunch of new challenges.

7. What is your greatest asset? It's a very simple and easy to understand solution to a complex problem with pricing that makes it accessible to anyone.
