Preparing the Game
You will need to usetheReplace… function to enter the
categories, becausethey appear on multipleslides.
•From themenus, chooseEdit > Replace… or pressCtrl-H.
•In theFind what: box, enter THEEARLYCOLONIES.
•In theReplace with: box, enter your first category.
•Repeat for all fivecategories.
You may also usethesameprocedureto changethedollar values
(to createaDoubleJeopardy! game, for example).
On each question slide, replacethepresent text with the
appropriatequestion for thecategory and dollar value; on the
answer slidefollowing it, replacethepresent text with thecorrect
answer (in theform of aquestion).
You will also need to createtheFinal Jeopardy category, question
and answer.
Daily Doubles
To createaDaily Double, theDaily Doubleslidesmust belinked
to thegameboard, and then to theappropriatequestion slide.
•From oneof theDaily Doubleslides(notewhich oneyou use),
right-click on the>> symbol and chooseHyperlink > Edit
Hyperlink…
•From thelist under Select a place in this document…, scroll
down to and select thefirst instanceof thecategory and dollar
value(thisisthequestion slide; thesecond instanceistheanswer
slide). Click OK.
•Go to theGAMEBOARDslide, right-click on thedollar valueof
theDaily Doublequestion and chooseHyperlink > Edit
Hyperlink…
•From thelist, scroll down to DAILY DOUBLE 1 or 2 slide
(which ever you used) and click OK.
Playing the Game
You may enter namesfor threecontestants(or teams); thesewill
only bevisibleif you utilizetheScoreBoard feature.
Click on theappropriatevalueon theGameBoard to go to that
question.
Each slidehasabuilt-in timer that countsdown 10 seconds. If you
wish to useit, click anywhereon theslideto begin thecountdown.
If you do not wish to useit, you must click on the? icon at the
bottom of theslideto advanceto theanswer.
If you would liketo reset thetimer to count down again (in casea
player guessesincorrectly), hit theBackspace key, and click on
theslideagain.
On theanswer slide, click the# symbol to return to theGame
Board. Click on the$ symbol to go to theScoreBoard.
When using theScoreBoard feature, usethe+ and – buttonsto
increaseor decreaseeach player’sscoreby incrementsof $100. To
return to thegame, click Hide Scoreboard. NOTE: Do not click
the Close square in the upperright hand corner! Thiswill
causetheScoreBoard to reset and scoresto beerased.
From theGameBoard, click on FINAL>> to go to Final Jeopardy!
Click on the$ symbol to view theScoreBoard.
