2. WHAT IS MENTAL HEALTH ?
Mental health includes our emotional,
psychological, and social well-being. A
mental illness is a medical condition
that disrupts a person’s thinking,
feeling, mood, ability to relate to others
and daily functioning. Just as diabetes
is a disorder of the pancreas, mental
illnesses are medical conditions that
often result in a diminished capacity
for coping with the ordinary demands
of life. Examples:
Anxiety Disorders
Autism Spectrum Disorders
Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity
Disorder (ADD/ADHD)
Bipolar Disorder
Borderline Personality Disorder
Depression
Dissociative Disorders
6. LACK OF AWARENESS
People are still ignorant about mental health. Few know and understand that
mental disorders are like physiological diseases that we have no control over .
9. • Less access to treatment

treatment
• Poorer quality of care
• Higher levels of stigma

insurance
