composition;
A piece of writing in which the expression of feelings and ideas is given intensity by particular attention to diction
(sometimes involving rhyme), rhythm, and imagery.
3. Rise in Full Bloom
Rambling down a cobbled pathway,
I stumbled upon a wild rose,
Deep garnet red,
Velveteen petals each curled to perfection,
Luminescent and innocently pretty,
A coy damsel oblivious of her beauty,
Fading away unadorned and unsung,
Looking at me, she blushed
I stood love stung, adoring her,
Borrowed a steam bearing a bud
Planted her proudly in my garden,
Ever day, day after day,
I watched my rose break out of its chrysalis,
Groomed it with devout care,
Nurturing it with fertilizer,
Admiring it with every moment,
Watching it grown and come into full bloom,
And looked down on me!
4. You are my world
You're the thought that starts each morning,
the conclusion to each day.
I envision you in all that I do,
And everything I say.
You're the smile on my face,
the sparkle in my eye.
the warmth inside my heart,
the fullness in my life.
You're all I've wanted,
all that I need.
You're all I dream of,
You mean so much to me.
The only hand that's laced to mine,
the coat upon my back.
My friend and love you have my heart,
I will never turn back.
You're the dimple in my cheek,
the constant tingle in my soul.
the voice that makes me weak,
You're the one who shields the cold.
5. I’m sorry and I still love you
I'm sorry friend I don't know what to do I try so hard to be a
better person to you I screw up a lot and I ignore you too I
don't know why but I still love you, you're my best friend I
know we can make it through lets make this friendship last
and make it better and true I know your getting sick of me I'm
getting sick of myself too I don't know how many times I can
say sorry to you but really I am a fool to let such a wonderful
friendship break in two I'm going to push aside the past now
I'm going to be nicer to you and show what I can do you're my
best friend still and you're my favourite too remember the
good times and I know we'll make it through.
6. The Calling
The waves whisper to me, calling me to the soft sand.
The water sweeps over my feet, surrounds where I stand.
The breeze careese my face, whips my hair.
The wind encloses my body, acknowledging I'm there.
The clouds clotting out the sun, turning grey with anger.
The sky no longer blue, a clear warning of danger.
The rain pelting my skin, as cold as ice.
The water sleeping in my bones, undeniably concise.
The world calling to me, pulling me out.
The atmosphere thicker, it's my sorrow no doubt.
The waves grew higher, crashed over my head.
The breath blown away, unmistakably dead.
7. Storm at Sea
CRASHING waves... SMASHING seas...
Bringing sailors to their knees.
As they struggle to save their lives
Hoping and praying, help arrives.
The stormy seas as dark as coal,
Preventing the sailors from reaching their goal.
Battered and bruised, but still they fight...
Staring ahead, into the dead of night.
Rocking and rolling as they try to stand...
Hoping against hope, that they soon reach land.
Bleary eyed from lack of sleep.
Down in their cabins, huddled like sheep.
As they're rocking and rolling down beneath
Weary sailors above, resist with gritted teeth.
Hours later, as the storm starts to dissipate,
It leaves a calm tranquil sea in it wake.
The veteran sailors know the battle is over, and they have won...
As contemplate, other storms yet to come...
8. Natures Way
Upon a nice mid-spring day,
Let's take a look at Nature's way,
Breathe the scent of nice fresh air,
Feel the breeze within your hair.
The grass will poke between your toes,
Smell the flowers with your nose,
Clouds form shapes within the skies,
And light will glisten from your eyes.
Hear the buzzing of the bees,
Climb the tallest willow trees,
Look across the meadow way,
And you shall see a young deer play.
Pick the daisies as they grow,
Watch a gentle cold stream flow,
Know the sounds of water splash,
Catch its glimmer in a flash.
When altogether all seems sound,
Lay yourself upon the ground,
Take a moment to inhale,
And listen to Nature tell her tale...
9. The Facebook Poem
On goes the PC. Wonder who has messaged me .Loading up my
Facebook. Gotta have a quick look. Ouch, somebody's poked me.
Words with friends? There's just three. I see a funny picture. I liked it so
I ticked ya. Facebook Facebook, Facebook rap. When this poem's done
I'll go for a nap .I check my FB in the morning and I check it in the night.
I check my FB when it's dark. And I check it when it's light. Oh Mr
Zucker What have you done I can't get away, however fast I run Oh
Facebook it's everywhere It's like I'm breathing it in, It's like unnatural
air, It's illegal to have Facebook. When you're under age, But
everywhere I go I hear people say "You got a Facebook page?"
10. The Glass Eye
The joke was very funny
She laughed a lot of tears
When suddenly her eye fell out
And landed in her beer
She fished around
with her pudding spoon
But it just stared back
Through the beery gloom
She tried again
with her fountain pen
but she only saw it
Now and then
What to do
She tried to decide
Pondered and pondered
Sighed and sighed
In a fit of madness
She downed her drink
Swallowed her eye
With not even a blink
She rang her doctor
In a fit of remorse
Who simply advised her
"Let nature take its course"
I believe she's still waiting
It's playing hide and seek
So she's had to buy another eye
To see her through the week
11. I'm A Person Too
Here I lie in bed again, Awaiting my next meal.
A worker barges in my room, As if it's no big deal.
What ever happened to courtesy? Just a little knock.
Do you think I'm just a vegetable, Laying here like a rock?
What ever happened to manners? I haven't got a clue.
BUT KEEP IN MIND AND DON'T FORGET, THAT I'M A PERSON TOO.
I know I can not talk, Or even joke around.
But I'm well aware of everything, and also every sound.
If you have another worker help, change me during rounds.
Please don't talk about me, as if I'm not around.
Treat me with respect, the same I'd give to you.
KEEP IN MIND AND DON'T FORGET, THAT I'M A PERSON TOO.
My bones are stiff and achy, I hear you say I'm contracted.
My belly hurts, I haven't pooped, I hope I'm not impacted.
I'm sorry I may drool, and at times I even stare.
It's not easy being old, aging isn't fair.
These are the cards God dealt me, There's nothing I can do.
JUST KEEP IN MIND AND DON'T FORGET, THAT I'M A PERSON TOO.
I used to be a lively one, just like your pretty self.
I traveled, married, and worked long hours until I lost my health.
12. Where Peaceful Waters Flow
The clouds break forth the streams of light
To dance upon the earth,
And cradled in the sands of time,
Comes a new born babies'' birth.
A gentle breeze blows through the night,
It whispers through the grass,
And ripples on the water form
As rain glistens on the glass.
And you listen to the sound,
The Lords' presence all around.
He summons us to go
Where peaceful waters flow.
A rainbow arcs across the sky,
A promise is displayed.
The graceful flight of a butterfly,
It takes my breath away.
The autumn leaves in their splendor
Fall gracefully to the earth,
And stars proclaim their song at night,
What is their beauty worth?
And you listen to the sound,
The Lords' presence all around.
He summons us to go
Where peaceful waters flow.
13. Broken Friendship
We said it was forever - said we'd never part, I knew it was a line, but I still gave both of you my heart. Said you would stay, promised you
could, You chose to walk away, I knew you would. You're not there anymore, my dearest friends, I hate to say this, but it is our end. By day
you're one person, by night another, Neither of them have anything to do with each other. I sit here and cry for you - not for me, What you've
become, I wish you could see. In your life you make friends that you're sure are true, Nothing else matters, except what's between them and
you. You don't know if anyone has ever before felt this way ,For them you took breaths, you wanted to be alive everyday. It hurts to loose a
friend, it gives you the saddest frown, And when a second one bails, it's like getting kicked while you're down. And it hurts to be accused of
something you didn't do, You guys should know better than anyone, that I would never even think to. You planted a knife in my back, You were
my life, but now, my memories of you are completely black. I am afraid to love another, but I know I shouldn't be, Because the people in my
life, are perfect for me. There is this game I play, Where I close my eyes and fade away. I can't believe it's true, but in this place, I can't even
remember that I loved you. You can't fix something that's already done.
14. When Love Begins
I always knew that love would come find me someday but never did I know that it would be you who was headed my way
you caught me off guard and took me by surprise but you simply captivated me, the same way you do when I look into your
eyes It's true that every good and perfect gift is from above you were presented to me as a beautifully packaged gift full of
humour, talent, intelligence, beauty and love "it isn't finding the perfect person but learning to see an imperfect person
perfectly "we all have our flaws but when I view you through my eyes, perfection is all I see From when you laugh to when
you're upset, I still love the little things you do especially hearing you laugh and seeing your nose wrinkle the same way mine
does too coming into this relationship has been hard at times but we've made it through I know as long as we're on this
journey together, there's nothing that we can't do. Sometimes I wonder if what we have is too good to be true too scared to
get my heart broken and scared of the thought of losing you but in the end, I trust in the author and perfecter of what I
believe because what we ask for in Him, we in return shall receive "Where your treasure is, your heart will be also" is how
the saying goes I may not know what tomorrow may bring, for God is the only one who knows the one thing I do know is that
you are my one and only a treasure in my heart that I want to devote my whole life to completely I know I don't need to
prove my feelings to know they're true because what I've known in my past, doesn't come close to the experience I've shared
with you I've had the experience of being in relationships before however, this is the first time I've been truly happy... I
couldn't ask for anything more it's an honour to know that I am yours, as you are mine and I trust God that He'll bring us
together in His beautiful time For now, I'll be waiting patiently for that day when we'll be together that precious moment in
time when I'll say, "it's you that I want to be with forever“ God made everything beautiful, precious and new just as beautiful
and precious as the day will be, when I look into your eyes and say, "I Love You“.
