A+ NYC is a coalition that brings New Yorkers together to envision an excellent and equitable public school system for the next mayoral administration. Through a community visioning process called PS 2013, they engaged multiple stakeholders including students, parents, teachers, and community members. Participants attended workshops in their local boroughs and provided input on their vision for education, what should happen in classrooms and schools, and issues for the next mayor. Their responses were analyzed for common themes and turned into policy recommendations, which were then presented at a citywide summit for the next mayor.
