- In Twitterville I learned that Twitter makes room for conversations between people who otherwise would not have the opportunity to converse. Israel compares Twitter to the telephone or a blog. The global community seems much smaller when put linked on social networks like Twitter. Israel made Twitter simple for new users. Social media, marketing, and public relations is more personal.
- Israel talks about several individuals dealing in business who have been successful through their use of Twitter. People like James buck, a freelance journalist, who told his story through a single tweet.
- Surprising: Israel talks about companies having to change the way they approach Twitter as a marketing or awareness tool. It has to become more personal.
- In Twitterville, the idea of creating individual brands is discussed. The type of brand that will then impact the company or corporate brand. I am interested in learning more about branding so that I can then be more effective in my presentation of whatever I am presenting to a public in the future. The importance of personal branding also peeks my interest.
- Twitterville demonstrates why social media is such a vital part of our business and social world. Future PR professionals can learn effective use of social networks, why relationship building is important, and most importantly ALL ABOUT TWITTER usage. For all of my peers who have recently been introduced to Twitter Israel does a great job of explaining the significance of Twitter and how to use it.
