2. Genre
I have chosen a rock and metal magazine because I
like and enjoy both these genres and I understand
the type of people within this genre.
The name I was planning to give my magazine was
“Sliver & Stone”. I did this to reference my genre
which is a Metal (sliver) and Rock (stone).
I also chose a joint magazine of both metal and rock
as it would give me a wider audience for my
magazine to sell. This is similar to other magazines
such as Mojo magazine and Kerrang!
3. Target audience
My target audience would be Dominantly males(although
with a likely chance of females to also be readers of my
magazine) aged around 16 to 30.
I chose this age group because I am 17 and am also male
understand what a person my age who has a great interest
in music and to want to have information on bands and
artist. Such as:-
Concerts.
Biographies.
New music and content from artist.
Links to their social networks such as Facebook, twitter
and Myspace.
4. Covers
I wanted to have a cover that is
flashy and unique. Similar to
magazines like “Q” as they have
a unique way of showing the
artist that they are looking at.
I believe that by using a cover
like this my audience will be
more likely catch their eye.
5. Fonts that I may use:-
Algerian
Copperplate gothic bold
Castellar
Chiller
I would use one of these fonts
because I would like my
magazine to give the reader an
idea that my magazine is gothic,
dark but also stylish tone.
Font and colour
The colours that I will use
will be Black, white and red
because they are colours
that give a gothic vibe.
10. Picture ideas for
magazine cover
I had an idea to use broken glass
for my cover as if the band or artist
is breaking glass or that they were
reflecting on the glass. I want this
to maybe show the bad attitude of
a band serious about their music
or showing violence showing a
rebel.
With a filter of black and white to
show the dark nature of the image
and emprise the gothic themes
within the magazine.
