Who’s On Twitter? Businesses Entrepreneurs Moms Hobbyists Marketers Kids Adults Who isn’t???
Who Should I follow? Depends on your biz Similar biz Direct competition Marketing experts Social Media gurus Local tweeps People who RT you People who follow your competitors!
How do I find someone specific? Use the ‘people find’ tool within Twitter Type their real name  OR Type their twitter handle
Who should follow me?	 The trick is to engage with other thought leaders in your industry Establish yourself slowly and authentically by contributing to conversations It’s not about number of followers – it’s about the authentic relationships built organically
Twitter lingo:	 Tweet =  what you say in your 140 characters
@ reply = When a tweet is directed to someone – will show up in public timeline for everyone to see
DM = Direct Message – a private tweet only viewed by person it is directed to.
RT = Retweet…when a message is worth repeating.
Hashtag = # a way to mark a subject matter and have entire conversations built around it Ie: #canucks
#FF = Follow Friday – a list of favorite twitter people that week… Try and find creative ways to #FF someone instead of just long lists
Lists = Create lists to monitor and organize different categories of contacts Ie: SEEDS list
Twitter Search = 3rd party application to search specific topics/areas etc	 Ie:  New Business http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jGbLWQYJ6iM
3rd Party Applications	 Tweetdeck/Hootsuite Mobile twitter ie: ubertwitter Search Twitter applications Twellow http://www.smashingmagazine.com/2009/03/17/99-essential-twitter-tools-and-applications/ http://twtapps.com/
Metrics/Tracking Shortened URL’s Use bit.ly.com or ht.ly (hootsuite) to track traffic to your link…way to monitor and improve the value of your content sharing   Google Analytics
