Good afternoon and thanks for coming to our Small Business Week Lunch and Learn presentation. I’m going to be talking about how we use Web 2.0 tools at the Library, and after that Sylvia Renaud, Head of Reference Services, will show you a demo of some of the business resources we have available to you from the Library’s Web site. I wanted to talk a bit about my role at the library before I start my presentation. My position – Head of Virtual Library Services – was created a few years ago to address the shift of library services on to the internet. More and more of the collections budget is being spent on “virtual” resources, like online databases, ebooks, eAudiobooks, streaming music etc almost all areas of our service are moving out to the “virtual” realm – for example chat reference, online book clubs, email alerts (of new books, upcoming events etc…)…and today I’m going to tell you about our work in Web 2.0 I don’t have a handout for you, but my presentation may be found online at SlideShare.net – where you can view it, print it, comment on it, share it, link to
