4. What is Leadership?
Leadership is the ability of an
individual or a group of
individuals to influence and guide
followers or other members of an
organization.
5. What is meant Effectiveness?
Effectiveness is the capability of
producing a desired result or the
ability to produce desired output.
When something is deemed effective,
it means it has an intended or
expected outcome, or produces a
deep, vivid impression.
7. Effective leadership is one
key element in the success of
a group and virtually anyone
can learn to be an effective
leader. Leaders are made, not
born.
8. Quaid-Azam
Muhammad Ali Jinnah
(RA)
● They are honest. This gives them
credibility, resulting in the trust
and confidence of their people
● They do what they say they will
do. They keep their promises
and follow through on their
commitments.
● They make sure their actions are
consistent with the wishes of the
people they lead. They have a
clear idea of what others value
and what they can do.

Leaders’
Attributes
9. Allama Muhammad Iqbal (RA)
● They admit to their mistakes. They
realize that attempting to hide a
mistake is damaging and erodes
credibility
● They create a trusting and open
climate. They help others to be
successful and to feel empowered.
● They avoid phrases that cause
resentment, reluctance and
resistance. For instance, instead of
saying you have to do something,
effective leaders request or
recommend that members do
something.
Effective
Leaders’
Attributes
10. Effective leaders are decisive-
Effective leadership is about not wasting
time. That includes the time needed to
make decisions.
They practice what they preach-
Effective leadership, in essence, also
involves leading by example. It’s hard to
respect someone who asks everyone to
come on time, or work towards a certain
goal
11. They don’t lose sight of goals-
Effective leaders are problem-solvers.
Or at the very least, they don’t dwell on
problems and instead focus on working
towards a solution.
They are passionate about what they
do-
Effective leadership is about believing in
what one is doing. Good leaders don’t
and will never say, “it’s just a job,” or “I
just work here.”
12. They give credit
where credit is due:
Often you’ll hear
the story about
the boss that stole
an idea, or took
credit for
someone else’s
accomplishment.
Effective leaders are
humble and
accountable:
This plays into the
aspect of effective
leadership that
relies on generating
respect that is
earned, instead of
relying on one’s
position or title in the
organization.
13. Communicate
effectively
An integral part of
effective leadership is
strong communication.
And communication isn’t
just saying “I want this to
happen.” It’s all about
listening and truly
considering the input that
comes from other people
in the team.
Helps people grow
Great leaders help
people grow. They
willingly share what
they know and look
out for learning
opportunities for the
people they work
with them.
14. Confident and
unafraid of the
unknown
Great leaders are
true visionaries,
who are not afraid
to step outside their
comfort zones.
They are willing to
take risks and try
new things.
They are trustworthy
Imagine working for
someone who cannot
be trusted. Difficult,
right? Good leaders
never violate trust that
is given to them —
either by people
higher up in the
organizational ladder,
or by people who work
for and with them.
15. Enabling effective leadership
Every organization should do its best
to enable effective leadership.
Organizations, in general, should be
open to doing things differently and be
cognizant of how they market is
evolving and how customers are
changing. Good leaders need a good
support system in order for them to
function well and maximize their
potential.
16. Features of
the Topic
Effective leaders have
many common qualities.
Making the effort to
practice and learn the
skills it takes to be an
effective leader will enable
you to use the style of
leadership necessary in
any situation you come
across.
