Bauer media group is a large European-based media group, that
is based in Hamburg, Germany. It manages over 600
magazines, over 400 digital products and 50 radio and TV
stations internationally.
It was founded in 1875, it’s managed by the Bauer family and it’s
private owned.
The brand identity is aimed at a variety of people. For example,
Kerrang, Bella, pregnancy & birth and golf.
The similarities between the brand magazines are that they focus
on celebrities, celebrity gossip and lifestyle.
IPC media
IPC media is a publishing house in the Uk and has a large
portfolio selling 350 million per year. Also, it’s known as Time
INC.
In the 1950s IPC media was dominated by a number of other
publishers fighting for the share of the market.
The brand identity is aimed at reality and living, such as music,
hobbies, home and fashion.
All the magazine brands are that they are all about lifestyle and
living.
CONDé NAST
It was founded in 1909 by Condé Montrose Nast and was not
incorporated into Condé Nast Publications until 1923. They
introduced: colour, typography and design.
Their brand identity is a variety of lifestyle magazines, like: home,
fashion and travel.
The similarities are that the brands are mostly fashion and lifestyle
magazines.
How they stay in the forefront of the
industry
Bauer Media own a lot of radio and TV stations, to get more
views and they have advertise their products across different
media platforms.
IPC Media use the phone and tablets to interact with their target
audience, as this is a mainstream thing and everyone uses
their phones or tablets on a daily basis.
Condé Nast also uses phones and tablets to stay in the front of
the industry, as it’s popular to advertise on phones and tablets.
How I’ll use this for my product
For my magazine, my brand identity will be music. I will advertise
my magazine on multi media platforms like: radio and TV
stations, phones and tablets. As my target audience will use
their phones more and will watch TV.
