WORK EXPERIENCE
Planet Innovation (+$20M Budget)
Production Support Engineer Oct 2012 – Nov 2014
Played an integral role in the production team of a cutting edge IVF medical instrument from Alpha
prototype to Production phase - Genea Automated Vitrification Instrument (project GAVI), world’s
first automated embryo vitrification instrument and an Class II FDA approved medical device
Developed strong working relationships with international/local suppliers, ensuring that all
parts arrived on the specified date and keeping the technicians and engineering team
informed of updates via Trello/email/face to face communication
Caught revision errors in BOMs and MWI, resolved concessions, and notified mechanical
team
Followed written test procedures to perform verification/validation of the GAVI instrument
Kept track of defects, issues, stock levels and expected delivery times with a personal
spreadsheet and the company’s MRP software, GreenTree
Reviewing and interpreting mechanical drawings and electrical schematics for inspection
Procured over 400 parts which included PCB, machined, sheetmetal, OEM, cables
Resolved component issues by liaising with suppliers in accordance to the ISO 9001 and
ISO 13845 medical standards
Developed and issued checklists to ensure modules operate to Planet Innovation’s standard
Conducted rework to comply with specifications with light and heavy duty tools
Built and commissioned over 10 GAVI instruments and taught 4 other technicians how to
build the precision instrument
First point of contact for technicians, provided diagnostic support to quickly resolve non
conformances in production to mitigate delays
Developed the test method to measure the inner dimensions of the pod consumables (0.05 –
0.3mm thickness) which were crucial to the survivability of the embryos
Detailed over 500 pages of work instructions for the production team
Developed the test method to qualify the instrument’s heat sealers externally, to ensure that
they are calibrated before installing them into the instrument. The test method was accurate
and repeatable to ±0.18°C, utilising light and heavy duty tools from the workshop
[Project Faithful - side project] Autonomously designed, assembled and programmed the
test script for 3 different test rigs in C to test the life expectancy (5 scenarios) of a hand held
medical device utilising existing materials in the workshop. I wrote detailed work
instructions and the results sheet for the client's operators to perform. This was successfully
completed despite the sudden change in deadline

INITIATIVE AND LEADERSHIP EXPERIENCE
The University of Melbourne ($1000 Budget)
Final Year Project Leader Feb 2011 – Nov 2011
Developed a network of bush fire sensors that predicted the likelihood of a bush fire in the given
area, giving warnings to the local community via a webpage
Ensured team members completed their task by the agreed date, which resulted in the
completion of the project ahead of its deadline
Evaluated the schedule and provided effective solutions for solving tasks which resulted in
the success of the project
Hours of soldering to produce 7 devices which communicated via radio frequency
Utilised HTML, C, PHP and MySQL to store and present data on the website
OTHER EXPERIENCES
Developing and designing wireless loudspeakers. The project involves integrating an 8x8 LED
matrix on an existing speaker that lights up with the music. This opportunity allows me to revise
and incorporate all the skills obtained from my previous work experience and university
Product development Aug 2015 - Present
Successfully liaised with and sourced for suppliers for components on a budget
Reviewed technical datasheets and selected suitable components for future production
Reduced the cost by removing sound analyser IC (MSGEQ7) and programming in C
instead, saving $10 per module
Troubleshoot electronic circuitry and programming the microcontroller’s test script in C
Self taught Eagle software (Altium alternative) and have sent the design for fabrication
within a week of learning
