in this Golden Jubilee Year of institute to the 2013
batch of budding Malaviyans. This Institute has been
known for its technical contribution and hospitality
since five decades, and we strive hard to keep up
the tradition.
Our academic program provides an optimum mix of
theory, practical and managerial skills, with strong
bias on industrial applications. In more recent years, gaining the Academically Autonomous
status, introduction of modern computational tools and digital equipment have further im-
proved the program. A Malaviyan engineer learns subjects across departmental bounda-
ries and excels in extracurricular activities.
With six departments imparting courses in engineering, science and management, we are
one of the most diversified institutions with a Golden history of Fifty Years. Whether you

About US

Established in 1962 by the State Government of Uttar Pradesh, Madan Mohan Malaviya
Engineering College, is one of the oldest and most renowned institution in the country.
Located at the heart of East Uttar Pradesh-Gorakhpur, MMMEC has grown to be
amongst the most respected institution across the country. With state of art infrastruc-
ture and highly qualified faculty attracts top 1% students excelling in UPSEE for un-
dergraduate and Post Graduate Courses.
 MMMEC has also been registered as an ISO 9001:2008 Certification in February,
2012 for providing “Engineering Educational Services”.
 It has also been awarded with the U.P.T.U Academic Excellence Award for the past
two years and is accredited by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA).
 It has been recognized as an institute of national importance by gaining Academic
Autonomy under the UGC Act in in July 2011.
 College has been granted the status of Quality Improvement Program (QIP) center
for regular Ph.D. Program in Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics &
Communication Engineering and Mechanical Engineering (02 seats in each branch
per year) by the AICTE under MHRD.
The lush green campus of college is spread across a large area of 350 acres. The institute
runs five courses of Bachelors Of Technology in core branches of Electrical Engineering,
Electronics and Communication Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Sci-
ence Engineering and Civil Engineering; ten full time courses of Masters Of Technology,
Master Of Computer Administration and Master of Business Administration courses.

Admissions to all courses (B.TECH, MCA, MBA) are made strictly on merit based perfor-
mance in UPSEE. The students have always proved their caliber in All India Exams like GATE,
CAT etc. Bagging the all prestigious AIR-1 in GATE-2010, more than a score of students fig-
ured in top 1% of the All India merit list. This year’s senior batch is no exception to the
Malaviyan tradition of excellence.
The admission to the M. Tech. courses can be obtained after qualifying GATE . The admis-
sion is entirely based upon merit and depends on the percentile achieved in the examina-
tion.
Students here are very active in all extra curricular activities also and they take part in com-
petitions throughout nation wide. The College also provides NCC training camp for stu-
dents. Various student societies of different branches are there, which carry out classes
and technical events for students of respective branches.
Microsoft has Student Partners from our college, responsible for the activities as guided by
the Microsoft Student Partners Group throughout nation, under which classes regarding
windows phone Application development, windows Azure and other Microsoft technologies
takes place.

The department was established in 1984 and with time it has evolved into one of
the best centers of learning for Computer Science& Engineering. It offers Bachelor
of Technology in Computer Science & Engineering, Master of Computer
Application (MCA). The department has also started M.Tech. in Computer Science
& Engineering and is the first in offering this PG program among UP Govt. aided
Engineering Institutions. The Department has a number of laboratories equipped
with state of-the-art computing facilities to support the research and teaching
activities especially in areas of Mobile Computing/Databases, Computer Network-
ing etc. An exclusive lab for POSIX (UNIX, LINUX) environment has been setup in

Department of Civil Engineering
The department of Civil Engineering was established in 1962. The Civil Engineering
Department has, over the years, established its status as a center for imparting high
quality technical education to undergraduate and post-graduate students and
consultancy to industries and various government departments located in Eastern
U.P. to keep abreast of the technological developments. The existing infrastructure
is being modernized constantly. The Civil Engineering Department is actively in-
volved in testing & consultancy services. A number of sponsored projects are in and
in Civil Engineering Department. The department has experienced and highly

Dept. of Mechanical Engineering
The department of Mechanical engineering came into existence in the year 1962,
the year of inception of the college. It is a major and pioneer department of the col-
lege, imparting instructions leading to the Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engi-
neering and Master's degree in Computer Integrated Manufacturing (CIM). The de-
partment has undertaken prestigious research projects from Ministry of Human re-
sources & Man Power Planning, Govt. of India worth about Rupees twenty million.
These projects include Alternative Energy Sources (AES), design and development
of fuel cells using Gobar Gas, Environmental Engineering and Pollution Control. The
department also has SAE India collegiate club to keep the students abreast with the
latest technological development. The department believes in the phrase, 'Plan
your work and work your plan'. The department has the following well-equipped
laboratories enriching the technical knowledge of the students .

The department of Electrical Engineering was established in 1962. This department
has over the years established its reputation as an excellent center for importing
high quality technical education to under graduates & consultancy to industries
and government departments located in the eastern U.P.. An M.Tech. course (Power
Electronics and Drives) approved by AICTE has been started from the session 2001-
2002. It will bridge the gap between the research and the under graduate students.
A number of AICTE projects are already in progress. The department has the fol-

The department of Electronics & Communication Engineering was established in
the year 1973 and an intake of 75 students in the Bachelors of Technology course.
The department has highly experienced faculty under whose guidance it has made
all round progress in the last three decades. Apart form the curriculum the depart-
ment also provides training in Embedded Systems, VHDL and Robotics under the
banner of the departmental society ECES to keep its students at par with the indus-
trial requirements.
t started a part time P.G. Course in Industrial Electronics and Process Instrumenta-
tion in 1990. The full time P.G. Course in Digital Systems has been started from the
academic session 2003-2004. It has facilities to cater to the needs of the present
day technology, and provides VSAT connectivity as centralized service. It also has
IEEE students' chapter to keep the students abreast with the latest technological
development. To foster the practical skills of its students, the department has the

Student Activities
The caliber of students can directly be judged by the quality of projects being done by the
students. Malaviyans come out with flying colors by bagging sponsored projects from the
top-notch research institutes like ISRO and industrial giants like TATA Motors and ST Micro-
electronics. In the field of computer science also students took great part in application
and software development, and have earned name and fame. Some of the projects under-
taken by the students are as :
 The official site of NCC Gorakhpur group (www.nccgorakhpur.in) and official site of NCC
UP Directorate (www.nccdteup.in) has been developed by the Computer Science
students of the 2013 batch.
 Students presented a project “Universal Braille Writer” in Dell Social Challenge and
stood 2nd in Asia.

The Annual Technical Festival of Madan Mohan Malaviya Engineering College, techSRIJAN
2012. As the name suggests techSRIJAN is a portmanteau coined from “TECHNOLOGY”
and “SRIJAN” which means technical creation. It lives up to its name when it evokes imag-
es of not only tangible little machines and bots but also great ideas which are brought to
the fore by talented students. techSRIJAN has fast emerged as one of the best technical
festivals of the country over the past years and now resounds as a familiar name across
the colleges as well as the industries nationwide. It gets bigger and better by the years

How to Reach Us
MMMEC campus is situated at Deoria road (Malviya Nagar) ,which is in the outskirts of Go-
rakhpur. Its is 10 km from the town center and 7 km from main railway station . Gorakhpur
is well connected by air, rail and roads to all the metros. Accommodation and conveyance
in Gorakhpur is available 24x7.
Airways
Gorakhpur is linked to New Delhi with flight that is scheduled 5 times a week with dura-
tion of 2 and half hours. Lucknow is also well connected with several flight.
Railways
Gorakhpur‘s railway is a major railway junction and is well connected to the entire country
through train. There are several trains that are destined directly to metro city like Delhi and
Mumbai.
Roadways
The roadways network connects Gorakhpur to all major destinations with several
