Europe India Business Leaders Conference 2019, the 23rd conference of our conference series, was held on 10th April and 11th April with discussions and interactions on 10th April at Flanders investment agency and European Parliament in Brussels followed by the industrial visit to Wallonia on 11th April.
On 10th April, the summit focused on the operational challenges faced by small scale businesses when they pursue their activities in India and the EU and speakers shared their expertise on the financial, legal, marketing and sales challenges faced by businesses while pursuing activities in the respective regions. About 19 speakers shared their expertise on the 1st day of the summit which was held at Flanders Investment Agency and European Parliament. About 100 organisations working in the areas of policy, technology, manufacturing, education, healthcare and other sectors attended the conference.
On 11th April, Indian delegates were taken to a place called Wallonia so as to get a firsthand experience of seeing EU companies in action and directly engaging in interactions with experts on the factory floor.
During the session at the European Parliament, EICBI released its 2019 class of EuIndia40 - Top 40 under 40 EU India Leaders. EuIndia40, an initiative of EICBI to discover Top 40 under 40 EU-India Leaders, covers the stories of these young leaders and their contributions in promoting EU India relations. The 16 women and 24 men who made to the list come from all walks of life and represent 16 different nationalities - Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Germany, France, India, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Spain, Switzerland, United Kingdom. The list features young entrepreneurs, policy leaders, thought leaders, business executives, trade body leaders, all under the age of 40, who are going to play an important part in shaping European Union - India trade relations during the next few decades.

2. THE MEET
Europe India Business Leaders Conference 2019, the 23rd conference of our business meet
series, was held on 10th April and 11th April with discussions and interactions on 10th April
at Flanders investment agency and European Parliament in Brussels followed by

On 10th April, the summit focused on the operational challenges faced by small scale

the economic opportunities in
Flanders and the various support

The morning session of the summit
was held at Flanders Investment and
Trade in Brussels. Flanders
Investment and Trade (FIT) was
founded by the Flemish government in
2005. The FIT agency helps Flemish
companies expand their business
abroad and assists foreign companies
in finding Flemish suppliers of quality
goods and services.
The delegates were welcomed to the

Following the session, the delegates had the opportunity to network during the

on connecting young leaders from
European Union and India, which set
the right tone to start the felicitation

the felicitation of EuIndia40 leaders. The leaders were given their credentials
by Hon Caroline Nagtegaal, who is the Member of European Parliament -
Netherlands & Vice Chair- European Parliament delegation for relations with
India and Mr Sujit S Nair, who is the Chairman of EICBI. After the felicitation
of EuIndia40 leaders, the first panel discussion of the conference was about an

This panel discussion was followed by a session by Rural entrepreneur, Sneha
Rakesh, from the Indian state of Karnataka. She is the Managing Director of
Akarmaxs & President of Samagraabhivrudhi who works with number of EU
clients. She shared few of her lessons and challenges she faced as an

panel discussion of the conference focused on the challenges which companies
face while raising finance to grow their business in India and EU market. The
session was Chaired by Mr Joachim Galand who is the Welcome Office
Manager- Indian sub-continent – Invest in Wallonia. The other panelists who
were part of the discussions include Mr.David Vlerick – Investment officer,
Vlerick group, Ms. Ingrid Willems – CEO, DataScouts and Mr.Anshul Garg –

another and take photos in the

As part of our efforts to provide a
first hand experience to our delegates
on launching and expanding of their
business in European Union, we took
delegates to visit a place called
Wallonia, which is around 50 kms
from Brussels on 11th April. A bus
was arranged to pick the delegates
from a designated place in Brussels,
and after an hour 's journey,
delegates reached Wallonia.
PROGRAMME SUMMARY

INDUSTRIAL VISIT TO WALLONIA
8. In Wallonia, delegates had the
opportunity to visit two organisations.

businesses innovate and grow on an
international scale. It is the world’s
largest support network for small and
medium-sized enterprises (SMEs)
with international ambitions. The
delegates were also briefed about the
work of the Indian Subcontinent
