MEET THE SPEAKERS: PART I
13. Some learnings from abroad
Delivery is still seeing the most sales
● Restrictions and limitations can come into effect at any point and the first to
suffer will be dine-in
Rethink your practices to avoid as much upheaval as possible
● Split teams so that one half of the business never interacts with the other
half, keeping one half running if someone tests positive for Covid
Don’t be afraid to bring in new tech
● The usual time it takes customers to warm to and take on new technology
has been drastically reduced thanks to Covid, people now want to try new
tech if it means a safer experience
Think about every contact point
● Really consider where you need contact: greeting on arrival definitely still
requires a human touch, but when it comes to payment, an app might be
better

17. How can you allow your workers to be
mentally present
with reduced financial stress
without impact to your cash flow
while improving the output of
each worker
Sli.do #BUSINESSASUNUSUAL
18. Just 17 per cent of workers are paid weekly,
while three-quarters are paid monthly.
This change means that 774,000 workers in the
bottom decile who would previously have been
paid weekly are now paid monthly.
This has a substantial impact on cash flow, with
workers in effect lending their employers
considerable amounts of money.”

20. Workplace
Wellbeing
Survey 2019
A third of workers admit that they feel
they often need to borrow money and
the volume of workers using high cost
credit has actually increased from 78%
in 2018 to 82% in 2019.
74% of workers were affected by personal
finance related stress in 2019.
Workers said it impacts their sleep (45%),
social lives (38%), relationships (34%) and
health (32%). Importantly, workers report
that financial stress affects their

It’s clear that flexible pay is a big consideration for a
significant proportion of the workforce (18-44 year olds).
Employers need to take this into consideration when it
comes to appealing and attracting talent – especially young
talent because the competition to recruit skilled young
workers has intensified.

25. Like Hastee, we hate payday loans, and we care so much
about the wellbeing of our entire team — it's a huge
thing for us and always has been. We put a massive
amount of effort into making sure our team are as happy
as they can possibly be at work, and a big part of that
inevitably is happiness outside work too. Making ends
meet in London is incredibly difficult for us all and we had
been looking for a long time for a solution to this, and
then we came across Hastee. It is simple and transparent,
it puts our team in control of their money and it keeps
them out of the grasp of extortionate short term loans.
We are very happy with the service so far."
