device and post to your Facebook page
 • Tournament staff comments and visitor comments
Twitter Account
Twitter is a free‐to‐use social networking tool that allows users to create a profile, also known
as a “handle”, and post short messages in 140 characters or less.  Tournament directors should
use Twitter as a way to give their tournament exposure and attract more participants.

Here are the best ways to attract teams to your tournament on Twitter:

  (1)  Use the Twitter search bar to locate teams in your area that
  (1) Use the Twitter search bar to locate teams in your area that
       have a Twitter account

  (2)
  (2) “Follow” those teams on Twitter; following others on Twitter makes
them aware of you and lets them know you  are interested in engaging
         with them

  (3)  Frequently post information about your tournament such as
sign‐up dates and reasons teams should participate
Online Tournament Directories
There are countless online tournament directories that you can post your tournament on
completely for free.  Every day, coaches across the country visit these directories to find
tournaments in their area.  If you are not on the directories, you can’t be found!

Here are the steps to take in order to take advantage of these directories:

 (1)  Do a Google search for tournament directories that is related to the type of tournament you
      are running
For example, you could Google “youth soccer tournament directories”

 (2)  Once Google provides you sites in the search results, you should then visit the different sites
 (2) Once Google provides you sites in the search results you should then visit the different sites
and follow instructions for posting your tournament
We recommend only posting to free directories in the beginning; only post to a paid directory if
you feel it is absolutely worth the cost

 (3)  When you are posting your tournament to a directory, be 100% sure you include a link to
your tournament website; this way, when coaches find you online they can click to your
      tournament site for additional information
