PERSONAL LEADERSHIP
THE LEARNING OUTCOMES ARE:
Knowing your authentic self
Defining your values and
leadership principles

Why 4P’s of leadership are vital
Personal Leadership is a fundamental start to

compass can become an authentic leader. This
work presents a concrete and comprehensive
toolkit and path for leadership success and
being the leader you want to be.
INTERPERSONAL SKILLS AND
SELF-AWARENESS
The more we know about ourselves as a leader,
the more effective we are at leading and
understanding others. Simply understanding
the key issues relating to managing people
does not guarantee success as leader. The abili-
ty to understand oneself and how an individual
impacts on a work group is the key to effective
interpersonal skills.

reaction, one needs to understand the main options available, receive feedback on one's own per-
ception of their present style and considerwhether or not it is appropriate. This module is based on
the Hersey and Blanchard model of Situational Leadership

with pre-existing strengths and talents. The keyis to discoverwhat traits and talents are most nat-
ural for each of us and then build upon these to make them strengths. Strengths-based develop-
ment involves the identification oftalents, integration into one’s view ofthemselves, and resulting
changes in behavior. This workshop includes strengths based assessment/book. *book/assessment

ignoring feelings. It’s about knowing yourself, your stressors, and when to reach out to others. It’s
also as a leader how to build resilience in those around you.
In this session we will provide you with the ability to identify characteristics of resilient people, as
well as practical tools and techniques you can implement to help you take control, increase your
resilience and minimise stress – with some cool neuroscience.
UNCONSCIOUS BIAS
THE LEARNING OUTCOMES ARE
Develop an enhanced appreciation of bias, both conscious and unconscious
Become familiar with key frameworks for identifying, addressing and reducing bias
Examining unconscious bias and the role it plays in workplace decisions may be the key to better
understanding why diversity remains a 'work in progress'. There has been a concerted effort over
the years to establish fair and equitable workplaces where diversity and tolerance is 'the norm'.
However, despite these efforts and the investment in time and resources by organisations and spe-
cialist commissions, progress in removing the barriers that limit opportunities forcertain identified
groups' remains largely elusive.
In orderto increase awareness of unconscious bias and its impact on decision making in the organi-
sational setting, this workshop highlights the prevalence of bias, addresses the importance of
inclusive leadership, and provides frameworks to support change and improve diversity outcomes
to contribute to the productivity and performance of your organisation

There is a lot of excitement and buzz around Women, Leadership and Neuroscience. But how do
Men fit into all this. It is important to recognise that BOTH men and women make up the magic in
the mix when it comes to leadership. So how do we work more effectivelytogether by understand-
ing our strengths and differences to create this magic?
The buzz can start by understanding our strengths and differences in the brain and that incredible
understanding our gender and brain differences. Our brain is our most important tool and I mean in
every aspect our lives. By understanding the subtle differences in the brain between men and
women and some of those myths around gender differences, this workshop will give you insights
and tools to work like magic!
LEADERSHIP – POWER OF MIX
It’s no secret that the male and female brains are wired differently. In fact, the brains are actually
built differentlywhich explains the differences in the waythe genders process information and the
way they behave.
The female brain is built for decision-making and organisation because the part of the brain that
controls reasoning is actually larger than the corresponding sector in the male brain. It is also built
to allow women to access information from different sections of the brain all at once, unlike the
male brain, which systematically follows a single path. Unlike men, women have been given larger
sections in the brain to deal with emotion and understand how others are feeling.
When it comes to introducing change within an organisation, the female brain is a vital tool, help-
ing make sense of the way change is perceived, experienced and survived by team members. This
presentation will explain the way the female brain works and why it is so essentialwithin a team or
organisational environment.
THE POWER OF THE FEMALE BRAIN
Neuroscience has revealed some amazing information about the way the brain works. Nowwe can
use that to find, nurture and develop talent. The key lies in one little neural substance within the
brain, which adds vast amounts of speed and accuracyto your movements and thoughts. The good
news is that the substance can be developed and cultivated. The finding has changed the way we
have traditionally managed talent development.
In this session, Sonia shows you how to ignite talent or the desire to increase talent, and how to
structure your processes to the right opportunities for talent practice and development. She will
show you how to become a talent whisperer.
NEUROSCIENCE OF TALENT
09
We are the LEADERS in Leadership
Engaging leaders to reinforce corporate values and culture
Aligning business objectives with talent management
In this fascinating session Sonia shows how the brain affects the perception of safety and why
many accidents can be blamed on the brain’s autopilot.
Our brains are wired to receive information in different ways, through visual, auditory and kinaes-
thetic means but each of us relies on one main supply of information and over time that becomes
the strongest pathway through the brain. We overlook information that is not presented in our
preferred style.
In addition, when routines become habitual we stop paying attention to what we are doing. The
mind wanders, distracted byworries or shiny objects. The brain can’t operate on two paths at once
so something has to give and usually it’s the weakest section ofwiring that crashes. That is an acci-
dent waiting to happen.
Learn howto keepyourself andyourworkmates safe using safetytechniques built to suit the needs
of our brains as well as our bodies.
NEUROSCIENCE OF SAFETY
An essential success factor in implementing strategies is to have a high degree of leadership capa-
bilitythat can turn abstract concepts into real and actionable outcomes. The effectiveness of lead-
ers, their alignment with business strategy and their abilityto grow and develop internal talent are
critical in today’s competitive industries.
In this valuable session, learn the strategic approach to leadership development with a focus on:
Why is confidence so important? Did you know that studies show us that confidence means more
than competence? Leaders not only need the technical know how but the confidence to be leaders
and drive change and strategy within their organisations. This interactive session will explain why
confidence matters, how to build it and what to do about it with a little neuroscience.

However, despite these efforts and the investment in time and resources by organisations and spe- cialist commissions, progress in removing the barriers that limit opportunities forcertain identified groups' remains largely elusive. • 10. There is a lot of excitement and buzz around Women, Leadership and Neuroscience. But how do Men fit into all this. It is important to recognise that BOTH men and women make up the magic in the mix when it comes to leadership. So how do we work more effectivelytogether by understand- ing our strengths and differences to create this magic? The buzz can start by understanding our strengths and differences in the brain and that incredible understanding our gender and brain differences. Our brain is our most important tool and I mean in every aspect our lives. By understanding the subtle differences in the brain between men and women and some of those myths around gender differences, this workshop will give you insights and tools to work like magic! LEADERSHIP – POWER OF MIX It’s no secret that the male and female brains are wired differently. In fact, the brains are actually built differentlywhich explains the differences in the waythe genders process information and the way they behave. The female brain is built for decision-making and organisation because the part of the brain that controls reasoning is actually larger than the corresponding sector in the male brain. It is also built to allow women to access information from different sections of the brain all at once, unlike the male brain, which systematically follows a single path. Unlike men, women have been given larger sections in the brain to deal with emotion and understand how others are feeling. When it comes to introducing change within an organisation, the female brain is a vital tool, help- ing make sense of the way change is perceived, experienced and survived by team members. This presentation will explain the way the female brain works and why it is so essentialwithin a team or organisational environment. THE POWER OF THE FEMALE BRAIN Neuroscience has revealed some amazing information about the way the brain works. Nowwe can use that to find, nurture and develop talent. The key lies in one little neural substance within the brain, which adds vast amounts of speed and accuracyto your movements and thoughts. The good news is that the substance can be developed and cultivated. The finding has changed the way we have traditionally managed talent development. In this session, Sonia shows you how to ignite talent or the desire to increase talent, and how to structure your processes to the right opportunities for talent practice and development. She will show you how to become a talent whisperer. NEUROSCIENCE OF TALENT 09 We are the LEADERS in Leadership
  • 11. Engaging leaders to reinforce corporate values and culture Aligning business objectives with talent management In this fascinating session Sonia shows how the brain affects the perception of safety and why many accidents can be blamed on the brain’s autopilot. Our brains are wired to receive information in different ways, through visual, auditory and kinaes- thetic means but each of us relies on one main supply of information and over time that becomes the strongest pathway through the brain. We overlook information that is not presented in our preferred style. In addition, when routines become habitual we stop paying attention to what we are doing. The mind wanders, distracted byworries or shiny objects. The brain can’t operate on two paths at once so something has to give and usually it’s the weakest section ofwiring that crashes. That is an acci- dent waiting to happen. Learn howto keepyourself andyourworkmates safe using safetytechniques built to suit the needs of our brains as well as our bodies. NEUROSCIENCE OF SAFETY An essential success factor in implementing strategies is to have a high degree of leadership capa- bilitythat can turn abstract concepts into real and actionable outcomes. The effectiveness of lead- ers, their alignment with business strategy and their abilityto grow and develop internal talent are critical in today’s competitive industries. In this valuable session, learn the strategic approach to leadership development with a focus on: Why is confidence so important? Did you know that studies show us that confidence means more than competence? Leaders not only need the technical know how but the confidence to be leaders and drive change and strategy within their organisations. This interactive session will explain why confidence matters, how to build it and what to do about it with a little neuroscience.
