Footnotes from CEO Study: “ We asked CEOs what dimensions of their business they will focus on to realize their strategy in the new economic environment. Nearly 9 in 10 CEOs told us that they will focus on getting closer to their customers – or in the case of governments, citizens – to a large or very large extent. This makes customer focus the numer one priority to succeed in the new economic enviroment. Standouts are especially determined to put customers front and center. An astounding 95 percent – 14 percent more than other CEOs – said that “ getting connected ” with customers is their top priority. This may seem like a small difference but, as Olympic athletes know, even very small differences count in determining who gets a gold medal. Standouts are convinced that they must not only stay connected (o r re-connect) with their customers, but keep on learning how to strengthen those bonds. Importantly, this close connection with the customers is seeing as permeating the entire organization, from the CEO on down. As a banking CEO in Hungary stressed – decisions need to be guided primarily by customer needs...even on the CEO level. ”
Overall experience on average eight years The CIO Mandate is a mutual effort of the whole C-Suite There must be a common understanding about the position of the CIO, and that technology plays a specific role in and for the business The Essential CIO must focus on his mandate to operate under his mandate and how technology can help to excel the business He must also speak the C-Suite language
