Gas cutting is a process where metals/rods &other shapes are heated to
their melting point and separated.

3.  PPE and eye protection shall be
worn.
 Flashback arresters shall be
provided at both ends of the hoses
to prevent backflow of gas towards
cylinders.
 Hose pipe shall be kept away from
the working area to prevent
contact with flames, heat, sparks
or hot spatter.
 Lighted blowpipe shall not be left
on the floor as the force of the
flame may cause it to move.
 Work-piece shall be clamped and
not held by hand.

4.  Cylinder valves of both DA gas and
oxygen shall be closed immediately, if it
is safe to do so.
 The flame should go out when the DA gas
is shut off. If the fire cannot be put out
at once, the area shall be evacuated and
emergency fire service shall be called.
 Hose pipe, regulators, flashback
arresters and other components may
have been damaged. The damaged ones
shall be replaced before reuse.
