Jordan has implemented several activities under the UNCCD's Pillars of action. Under Pillar 1, Jordan adopted sustainable land use plans using soil data and remote sensing to improve conservation measures, forests, rangelands, and water sources. Jordan also passed new soil protection legislation. Under Pillar 2, Jordan created agricultural maps, trained students and engineers in soil science and sustainable practices. Under Pillar 3, Jordan developed a roadmap to utilize agricultural lands with support from investment and youth groups. Under Pillar 4, Jordan conducted soil surveys, mapping, and trained staff in sustainable land use. Under Pillar 5, Jordan joined GLOSOLAN and worked to reduce costs of soil analysis for farmers through workshops.
