4. Observation:
A group of students were carrying out an experiment to separate a rice and sand mixture. The
following steps were followed:
- Combine the rice and sand into a mixture.
- Pour the mixture into a sieve over a beaker.
- Shake the mixture.
- Record observation.
Once the experiment was complete, the students noticed that all the sand fell into the beaker but not
the rice.
Write a simple lab report based on the observation/problem. Include the aim, apparatus, method,
results and conclusion.
