Defining Apprenticeship embedded Degree programme (AEDP)
The UGC Guidelines for Higher Education
Institutions to offer Apprenticeship
embedded Degree Programme dated July
24, 2020 permit universities to embed
apprenticeship in general degree
programmes as an integrated component
of the academic curriculum.

Overview of Apprenticeship Embedded Degree Program
Objective of Apprenticeship embedded degree program:
• Improve the employability of students pursuing Undergraduate level
general degree Programme e.g.; B.A., B Com, BBA etc.
• Focus on outcome-based learning in degree programmes
• Promote active linkage between the higher education system and industry
Scope of the program
• UG degree in all disciplines can embed Apprenticeship without changing the overall duration
• Universities to partner with Industry to integrate Apprenticeships
• Duration of Apprenticeship should be minimum of One Semester
• Spells of apprenticeship can be either continuously / at intervals depending upon the requirement of industry and
practicality of the discipline
• After completion of this program, students are eligible for pursuing Masters degree and applying for all opportunity
applicable for graduates

Admissions and Enrolments
Basic Training
