Chivas Brothers is the Scotch whisky and premium gin business of Pernod Ricard, the
world’s co-leader in wines and spirits.

o Creating and reviewing individual performance plans

Lead and manage cross functional teams to deliver packaging and spirit solutions for
major brands across the business (Chivas Regal, The Glenlivet, Ballantine’s, Beefeater
Gin, Royal Salute, Malts and Blends).
Management of projects, liaising with Marketing and design agencies through to design
freeze and onto bottling introduction. Projects range in size from a complete restage of a
brand to individual component introduction and luxury products such as Chivas 18 in
conjunction with Pininfarina.
Management of suppliers for each component in development - Glass, labels and box
wrap (print suppliers), closure manufacture (plastics/metals/cork and bespoke materials
i.e. ceramic, filled heavyweight plastics etc.), corrugate suppliers (shipping cases,
divisions), rigid boxes/cartons (cardboard), tins (tin plate), wood and other bespoke
packaging for higher value projects.
Part of the senior team meetings ensuring timely and appropriate communication is made
with company senior management regarding project status, risks, concerns and
milestones as required, presentation to the Executive team as and when required.
Risk/mitigation and project review responsibility
Responsibility for input of information which is included in business case builds for each
project (costs/technical feasibility and timescales from suppliers).
Management of project plans (MS Project). Identifying key milestones.
Management of project and capital expenditure budgets for the project.
Management of obsolescence costs.
Ensure BOM’s are built and maintained correctly.
Working with project technologists to develop and maintain component specifications via
specific management software.
Working with line engineers and project engineers to ensure continued quality after the
project has been delivered.
Working closely with the marketing/brand teams throughout the project delivery period.
Responsibly for cross functional project team meetings, supplier meetings, minutes and
delegation of actions.
Part of a team reviewing Stage Gate, risk assessment and departmental process.
ACHIEVEMENTS
Delivering a major restage (Glass/closure/labels/shipping case/cartons) for the company
within my first 18 months of joining (multiple SKU’s and components).
Delivery of multiple major tin projects for key timings throughout the year (Christmas

gifting/Father’s day) which meant significant supplier management (manufactured outside
of the UK).
Delivery of a key tin project (time constrained) to tie in with a major golf marketing
activation and professional golfer endorsement.
Other projects have involved delivery of each type of component with varying levels of
complexity; from distillery editions (for the visitor centers) to major collaborations with
specific design houses on luxury packs (Pininfarina amongst others).
Currently managing 11 key strategic projects for the department.
United Closures and Plastics (part of Global Closure Systems)

United Closures and Plastics are designers, manufacturers and suppliers of ROPP, NRPP
and security closures to the global wines and spirits industry.
Lead, implement and deliver both business and customer driven projects, specifically
targeted at market leading brands for global companies, such as Diageo, Pernod Ricard,
William Grants and Bacardi.
Project management of both design and productionisation projects from concept to
production hand over.
Coordination of resource from departments across the business to support projects.
Specification of multi cavity plastic injection moulds and moulding machines. High- speed
assembly machines, PET blow mould machines and PET moulds.
Plan projects with key milestones, identify all resource requirements with built in
contingencies, risk assessments and FMEA’s throughout the process.
Management of NPD capital investment projects/departmental expenditure and customer
investment project budgets.
Creation of technical drawings, BOM’s and all specifications ensuring products conform
to the latest ISO quality standards.
Design and development of innovative design solutions for PET bottles, in-bore pourers,
NRPP’s and security closures and any IP work required for these.
Ensuring closure and glass specifications are matched for all designs
New material investigations.
Relationship management, regular presentations and meetings with both customers and
suppliers.
ACHIEVEMENTS
Management of two major business improvement projects, with a total of £1.2 million
capital investment
Delivery of 3 new PET blow moulds and 2 new injection blow mould machines for
Diageo, on budget and ahead of schedule.
Several product improvement and light-weighting projects that delivered customer and
company cost savings.
Part of a team that delivered a new NPD project management technique that was
implemented at group level (stage gate/review process).

Eclipse Blinds Systems – a group company of Hunter Douglas, the world market leader in
window coverings and major manufacturer of architectural products.
Lead and develop a design team to produce innovative and market leading products,
while maintaining the required quality and reliability expected by our customers.
Ensured multiple projects and quality of products were delivered within agreed

timescales, to required specification, legislations and budget.
Problem solving and management of the mechanical design and development of
components and subassemblies including 2D/3D CAD calculations.
Oversee prototypes and testing to prove compliance with specification.
Communication with senior management to report on project status.
Liaise with all internal departments and external suppliers from concept stage through to
market.
Implementation of a company wide project initiative to improve customer satisfaction.
Working closely with marketing department to understand customer needs and targeting
customers with specific products.
Aided in the implementation of a new quality system and checking procedure for new Far
East supply route, which included all packaging requirements.

ACHIEVEMENTS
Project management of 180 new mould/press/extrusion tools manufactured in China,
Israel and Turkey with cost savings in first year of £750K.
Design of Intu blind systems fitted directly to uPvc windows without need for screws,
which generated £1.5 million in sales in its first year.
Patent applied for and registered for a bespoke product, named as an inventor.
