3. ŞERMİN YAŞAR
Şermin Yaşar was born in 1982. She is a famous writer of
children’s literature. She studied Turkish Language
and Literature Department and then completed her
master’s degree in this field. She has got many books
especially for children. Most of them are fun and help
the personal development of children. Parents also
read her books in order to look from children’ s
perspective .
4. Here is a part of one of her books.
Adults are so hard to understand! They keep
complaining about life all the time. However, their
situation is not that bad at all. You don't have a mother
and father who always say don't do that, don't do that.
You don't have a teacher who gets angry because you
didn't do your homework. You don't have a school
where you have to get up and go every day! What more
do you want from life? Oh what a homeland! This is
not fair! Life must be a great country for us children
too! But how?
6. THİS İS THE WORD museum that was designed by
the author Sermin Yasar. It is in Ankara and it is the
first word museum in Turkiye. This museum is
designed for the young people in order to learn the
Turkish words, proverbs and idioms .
7. In the museum , the history of many words, idioms,
proverbs and their usage in daily lives are presented
in creative ways.
11. Mustafa Rahmi Koç (born 9 October 1930) is a
Turkish businessman. In 2016, he was ranked as the
richest person in the world. In 2013, Koç was the single
highest taxpayer in Turkey.
Rahmi Koç was the only son of one of Turkey's
wealthiest men Vehbi Koç.

working for the Koç Group in 1958. He became general
coordinator of Koç Holding and moved to Istanbul
14. A visit to Henry Ford Museum in Michigan inspired
him to create the Rahmi M Koç Museum in Istanbul. It
reflects the history of transport, industry and
communications exhibiting trains, submarines and
autos.
18. YÜKSEL ERİMTAN
Mr. Erimtan established Cultural Heritage Collectors
Association (Kültür Varlıkları Koleksiyonerleri
Derneği) in 1996.
He also established Yuksel Erimtan Culture and Arts
Foundation in 2009 in order to raise awareness for
culture and arts. This museum was established
under Yuksel Erimtan Culture and Arts Foundation.
20. .The collection in the museum was born when Yüksel
Erimtan bought his first Roman ring stones in 1960,
and expanded over time . The collection, which covers
the period of time from 3000 B.C. up until the
Byzantine Empire.

These history ages are represented in the
museum with a wide collection about its daily life
and dining culture
22. Works in Bronze
There are 364 bronze works (war tools,
jewelleries,daily tools ) in the collection. A
significant part of the works in bronze are
comprised of animal, god and goddess
figurines.

Works in Glass
The Erimtan Archaeology and Arts Museum collection
contains 273 works made of glass. The pieces in the
collection were produced between the 1st and 3rd
centuries B.C
Exept the cups and bowls in daily life, the biggest part of
the collection is comprised of perfume bottles that were
placed as gifts inside Roman graves..

The Erimtan Archaeology and Arts Museum collection
features 176 seal stones and 92 rings.
26. PROF. DR BEKİR ONUR
Ankara Toy Museum, located in Ankara University, was founded on 20 April
1990 by Bekir Onur. The museum has a collection of almost 3000 toys.
The toys are displayed in five distinct sections;
traditional toys;
mass produced toys;
imported toys;
antique toys; and
the latest toys.
This museum is dedicated
a) To protect those toys under threat of disappearing in a rapidly changing world
b) To make further study of the history of play, childhood, education, culture, and
industrial history.
