They also highlighted the various stories and values that they have learnt during their experience.

A lot of the discussion was more focused towards creating better engagement in terms of creating value
of the work. As fellowship itself can be a tool of engagement but commitment is something that
certainly helps to create a better presence.

The overall concept of smartpalika(Smart Governance) is all about improving governance at the
grassroots level where internet can be used as a successful tool to bridge the gaps

• What level of capacity building is need at various leadership level
• How can we collaborate to create a proper public process?
• How can Nepal government increase governance at public level?
The session highlighted the importance of data and how open data can be managed to create a better
system in mitigating the challenges and problems. Highlighting the use of current technology and
evolution of AI, the speakers discussed about the current challenges of Big Data and the current rules
and regulation. Nepal has just transformed into the federal state and using technology can be an
effective towards ensure governance in the public policy process, but the limitation of knowledge and
capacity simply hinders at various level leadership.
Talking more about Artificial intelligence (AI) and governance the session highlighted the various
practice of international organization like Google and Facebook and how they are managing the big data
using the AI. The discussion was more focused about the how smart cities can be developed in terms of
creating a better governance adapting technology.
Similarly, the speakers also shared their part of the current development in AI Governance practice and
how it impacts the lower economies in terms of having a set of value.
Suggestions and Recommendation for Nepal IGF:
1. The Session format needs to be restructured with more discussion times and less lecture panels.
In few of the sessions, it was seen that the presenters were not prepared and had given less
focus toward the proposal guidelines and the session was just limited to lecturing the
participants.
2. The standard code of conduct needs to be practiced
3. Nepal IGF needs to adopt more open and transparent communication
4. Logistic was a huge challenge in terms of smaller things of management of session and speakers
time
