2. This shot is a wide shot. This shot shows the main school yard.
This will be the shot at the start of the documentary as will set
the scene, this will show the school grounds and the children and
teachers walking to lessons. This is good shot because it will show
what the school will look like because this portrays the main
message of a school atmosphere and show school like.
This high angle view allows the camera to show the main parts of
the school and is a good shot to set the scene and show the
different blocks.
I have found in documentaries like educating Yorkshire, that
would be similar to my one, start the documentary with the people
in the school at the start of the day. This then shows off the
different groups of people in the school which shows the different
ethnics
3. In this scene the location where the scene will start is in
the sixth form common room. This is because the scene will
show a shot before the school day starts. There would be
students sitting down on the sofas talking before they go off
to lessons. This shot will show the diversity of the group of
people which will be relevant later on in the documentary.
Also, the focus would be more on the corner where the
purple sofas are. This is because there would be a few
friends sitting here chatting before the day starts. This is
so that the camera shows the different people in the group
and their attitude to school life.
This bottom right shot is a high angle view which is good
because it shows off more of the room. Then, this can zoom
into the corner where the main focus would be.
The bottom left shot is of the other side of the common
room. This can be made into the scene by panning around
the room and then ending in the corner. This is good
because it shows off other people in the room which shows
the diversity of the sixth form.
4. In this scene, there are students revising at the
tables in this room. This will show two people at the
table and will show a contrast of work ethics. This
location is good because it would be able to show
other people in the room if I wanted to which would
show what happens during a free period.
The main focus would be on one of the tables and it
will be concentrated more on this. This is because the
two main characters would be sitting down and
showing a contrast in working ability.
The shot used would most likely be a two shot. This
is because the camera would be fixated on the two
characters so a two shot would be great for this. This
is because this shot will show both the characters at
the same time, in the same shot.
5. In this scene the main focus would be the head of
sixth forms office. This is b because the scene is
going to be in the head’s office and will show the
door before entering. This is a key image because it
shows dominance and the students know that this is
the head’s office.
This scene will start off with a shot of the door, and
then it would be tracking the student which enters.
This would be a good shot because it would show
how the student is feeling before entering and how
they would react when inside.
Once inside, the camera movement that would be
used would be a shot reverse shot, close up and a
two shot. This is to show a range of different camera
movements to show everyone that would be involved
in the scene.
6. This scene would be about a lesson with both
main students in. therefore, a classroom would
be the ideal location to shoot this scene.
The pictures show two different types of
classes, one more recognisable with tables and
chairs, and then one with an open floor and
possibility of putting chairs in this. The more
ideal location would be the table and chair
setup, this will help to show students sitting
and working.
The top right picture shows a teachers desk.
This may play a part in the documentary
because the teacher may have to give a speech
at the start of the lesson and the desk would
help show it is for a teacher. It also, shows the
difference between the teachers and students
which shows off the difference in authority.
7. In this scene will either be going into
their exam and doing last minute
revision to get the grade, and one of
the student’s will be messing around
and another one will be concentrating
and then afterwards both will come out
and speak to their teacher the well
behaved student looks happy and relived
mis-behaved student looks worried.
The pictures show where the students
line up for their exams from all angles
and include a wide shot, high shot, over
shoulder shot and low angle shot
