2. WHAT IS ETIQUETTE?
Etiquette is a code of behavior that delineates
expectations for social behavior according to
contemporary conventional norms within a society,
social class, or group.
3. HOW TO BEHAVE IN PUBLIC PLACES
Don’t Stare at public: It is impolite to stare at people in public places
Do not pick your nose in public: If your nostrils need de-bugging, use a handkerchief.
Do cover your Mouth: When yawning or coughing always cover your mouth with your hand.
Do Smile: A smiling face is a welcoming face.
Do not spit: Spitting in the street is considered to be very bad mannered.
Do not burp in public; You may feel better by burping loudly after eating or drinking, but
other people will not! If you can not stop a burp from bursting out, then cover your
mouth with your hand and say 'excuse me' afterwards.
4. THANK YOU/ I’M SORRY/ PLEASE
If you accidentally bump into someone, say ‘sorry’.
They probably will too, even if it was your fault! This
is a habit and can be seen as very amusing by an
‘outsider’.

Chew with your mouth closed
Try not to talk while eating

11. Invitation letter from the Belgian company you will be visiting and their detailed
address accompanied with the dates of your visit
A certificate from your employer stating/allowing your business travel
If there were previous trade relations between the two companies, proof of such
events must be provided
Regarding the applicant’s expenses during stay in the Schengen zone, either the
employer or the partner company must state coverage of expenses on the letter or
invitation.
