Choice Program Goals
Choice Neighborhoods Program Core Goals
1. Housing - Transform distressed public housing into energy efficient, mixed-
income, and affordable housing
2. Neighborhood - Transform neighborhoods of poverty into viable, safe, well-
functioning communities with access to high quality public schools, services, public
assets, transportation, and improved access to jobs
3. People - Ensure that families within the target developments and surrounding
neighborhood have opportunities for improved health, safety, employment, and
education
Choice Neighborhoods Transformation Plan
The Transformation Plan should translate the three core goals of Choice
Neighborhoods – Housing, People and Neighborhood – into a strategy that will:
Direct investments,
Demonstrate the commitment among a range of public and private
partners to address interdependent neighborhood challenges
Utilize data to set and monitor progress toward implementation goals, and
Engage community stakeholders and residents in meaningful decision-
making roles.

  • 5. Choice Neighborhoods Program Core Goals 1. Housing - Transform distressed public housing into energy efficient, mixed- income, and affordable housing 2. Neighborhood - Transform neighborhoods of poverty into viable, safe, well- functioning communities with access to high quality public schools, services, public assets, transportation, and improved access to jobs 3. People - Ensure that families within the target developments and surrounding neighborhood have opportunities for improved health, safety, employment, and education

Choice Neighborhoods Transformation Plan The Transformation Plan should translate the three core goals of Choice Neighborhoods – Housing, People and Neighborhood – into a strategy that will: Direct investments, Demonstrate the commitment among a range of public and private partners to address interdependent neighborhood challenges Utilize data to set and monitor progress toward implementation goals, and Engage community stakeholders and residents in meaningful decision- making roles.
