2. Brass Instruments
•Brass instruments are made of brass most of the time,
but can also be made out of other metals too.
•All brass instruments have three major sections:
a mouthpiece
a length of tubing
and a bell
3. Mouthpieces
• Big instruments need big mouthpieces to
make the sound.
• Smaller instruments can have smaller
mouthpieces to make sure the sound is high
enough.
4. Valves and slides
All Brass Instruments have valves
EXCEPT the trombone!
The trombone uses a slide.

• The slide makes the instrument longer which
