When I was a little girl, I had night terrors. I have
vague memories of going to sleep and waking up in
strange places. Like the living room floor, the bathtub,
the stoop on the front porch. I am not sure what the
exact content of these dreams were, just that I had a
disastrous feeling as I drifted off to sleep. I know that
these episodes terrified my parents. Even though the
doctor said it was actually fairly common and not a
symptom of anything, they would just pray for me to
have peaceful sleep. Luckily, I grew out of them when I
was about 8.
