2. WHAT IS A DIARY ENTRY?
A Diary is a journal where you express your thoughts, feelings,
opinions, and plans. This journal is your safe place.
A diary entry is always kept truthful, natural and free-flowing. Trust
your thought train and don’t stopor mince words for the fear of
being watched or judged. It is your space to let out all your feelings,
don’t hold back.

Dear Diary,
Today I am going to share a very touching experience I had today. I got an
opportunity to visit an old age home. It is a kind of home for those old people
who for some reasons cannot staywith their grown-up children or those who
don’t have any familymemberto take care of them.
I felt very emotional interacting with an old lady. Although she is an affluent
woman, she has to live in the home because both her daughtersare married
and well-settled. Her husband passed awaylong ago. She said she had opted
to live at the Home for many facilitiessuch as safety, security, lodging and
boarding, and the most important thing-- companyof peers.
12. I was so sad and depressedto see that there are such homes where the old people
have to live without families.I personally feel people living in such old age homes
feel very lonely and abandoned. The old people need their sons, daughters,
grandchildren to live happily. Thinking about the old lady, I feel why is it that in our
country the old fathersand mothers cannot live with their married daughters’
families?
I have decided that I shall be visiting the old age home regularly now to give
company to the old people living there.

Dear Diary,
Today had been the worst day of my life.I had a fight with my best friend in
school. Hehad never been so rude to me. Today he fought with me over a trivial
issue. I had borrowed a pen from him as I had forgottenmine at home. By mistake
that pen felldown from my hand and it stopped working. On realizingthis, he
started fightingwith me and persuaded me to geta new pen for him right then.
I could not even understand what went wrong and I was so hurt that I could not
speak anymore.Later on, a common friend told me that someonehad told him
some wrong things about me and had createdthat misunderstanding.
I thought that, that wasn't the right timeto talk to him. Tomorrow I'll return his
pen to him and would also try to sort out the matter.
