My magazine represents particular social groups in many different ways, one of the ways is by the
image’s used; mainly the main image. The clothing of the model in the main image is classed as
Gothic or Mosher clothing, people who wear or are interested in the type of clothing shown are
instantly drawn to the magazine because for instance artists such as My Chemical Romance and
Green Day would wear trench coats, chokers and other gothic clothing and these artists would
appear on covers such as ‘KERRANG’ and ‘ROCKSOUND’ but artists such as One Direction, Miley
Cyrus and Taylor Swift wouldn’t wear gothic clothing, they would wear big name, expensive labels
and would never appear on the front of ‘KERRANG!’ but they would appear on a cover like
‘Cosmopolitan’. This is how the clothing worn by the model represents the social group my magazine
is aimed at, the artist on the front of my magazine is wearing a trench coat which usually means that
the music in this magazine isn’t pop, chart music; it is heavy metal, rock or punk music that won’t be
acquired to everyone’s taste, for instance someone who likes pop music would stereotypically hate
‘Screamo’. This is how my main image represents the particular social my magazine is aimed at.

My magazine also aimed at particular social group by the stories included in the magazine which
appear on the front cover, for example on the front cover there is a plug that says ‘Mitch Lucker
Tribute Nights’ this would only interest people in a particular social group because people who are
not in the social group may/will not know who Mitch Lucker is meaning that the plug is completely
irrelevant to them, but for the people in the social group, which my magazine is aimed at will
understand not only who he was, but it will mean a lot to them because Mitch Lucker was classed
as a big idol to many people and because this magazine is meant to be based and sold in Great
Britain it will give fans of him from Great Britain to remember him and pay respects to him without
having to fly to America to go to his death site or grave. This is aimed at particular social groups
because people not in this group would not be interested in the plug that appears on the magazine
and the name and information of the tribute night may not mean anything to them, but to others
it will mean so much. The other articles included in the magazine also represent and attract a
certain social group, for instance unless you’re into the music by
Fall Out Boy, or artist who also perform music in the same genre as them
then you wouldn’t care that they’re going on tour, but even if you the
reader did not like Fall Out Boy they would be friends with someone in the
same social group who also probably will like Fall Out Boy so this is
represents people in certain social groups because people who don’t like
the certain music included in the magazine don’t fit into the social group
I am representing.
