Beginning second term for this nationally recognized public school district which serves approximately
8,500 students through six elementary schools, two middle schools and one high school. District also
includes the award-winning Edina Family Center, which provides early childhood education and
community services.
 Manage $100 million district budget by establishing priorities and approving final budget
 Set budget parameters for all collective bargaining agreements, work with district Human
Resources to finalize negotiations
 Hone “customer” service skills through ad-hoc and scheduled meetings with constituents
throughout the district
 Represent the public’s desires and concerns at a district level.
 Conduct the district superintendent’s annual review
 Serve as superintendent’s supervisor, responsible for hiring if a new leader is needed
 Set and develop district-wide policies
 Participate in three key School Board committees to resolve issues with the Superintendent and
school district administration: Finance and Facilities, Human Resources, Teaching and Learning
