2. PROJECT DETAIL
Company : Broadcom Limited, San Jose, CA
Project Title : Architecture Implementation of StrataXGS Ethernet Switches
Duration : December 15th 2014 to till now
Team Size : 12
Designation: Principal Engineer
Project Description:
Network switch is a multimillion-chip project, where the switch lies on a single chip
with layer 2 to Layer 7 functionalities are embedded. Its termed as Switch on a Chip (SOC).The
system comprises of a SOC, software driver and packet generators.
I am part of Architecture Group of Broadcom’s Network Switching BU which
consolidates Chip Features, Defines Feature Requirements, Implements those Features in c-code
(so that Features and overall Chip behavior can be validated before implementing them in RTL)
and Supports various teams till the Chip Tapeout. I am part of Architecture Implementation
(AI) Team within the Architecture Group and the team is responsible for understanding Feature
requirements and implementing them in c-code model (i.e. a model that is used for
Functional/Architecture Validation)and supports various groups till the chip tapeout.
Responsibilities:
Understanding Features Architecture, Defining the Implementation plan, implementing the
Features in c-code and supporting Validation team on Bug fixes.
Supporting other Teams (S/W, S/W-QA, Design (DE.DV& SV) on feature understanding
and Data structures (i.e. tables/registers configuration) and Chip behavior
I was leading c-code efforts of a Chip from April, 2015 till March, 2015 (with a 3 member
team)
Company : Broadcom Communication Tech Pvt Ltd, Bangalore
Project Title : Architecture Validation of StrataXGS Ethernet Switches
Duration : August 10th 2007 to December12th 2014
Team Size : 37
Designation: Senior Staff Engineer
3. Project Description:
During this time I was part of Architecture Validation Team of the same Architecture
Group in Broadcom’s Networking Switching BU. This Team is responsible for validating
various features supported by the chip (i.e. Functional Validation).
Responsibilities:
Understanding Feature Architecture, Defining Test Suite, Leading and Executing
Chip/Feature Validation, Developing AV Test cases, Analyzing & Reporting Issues and
Verifying the fixes
Supporting other Teams (S/W, S/W-QA, SV & DV) on feature understanding and
providing local Architecture support on Data structures (i.e. tables/registers configuration)
and Chip behavior
Worked on a short term (3 months) assignment of Architecture Implementation (AI) for a
Data Centre Feature (NIV)
Packaged Packet Generation Utility (PF) in TCL and provided it with Unit testing
framework & Doxygen based automatic documentation which is being re-used by S/W
teams
Developed Test plan/Test Suite and Test cases to verify the following standards and
features:
o IEEE 802.1ag - Connectivity Fault Management (CFM) which is part of ETH-
OAM
o IEEE 802.3ah - Ethernet in the First Mile (EFM) which is part of ETH-OAM
o RFC 5880 - Bidirectional Forwarding Detection (BFD)
o RFC 6374 - Packet Loss and Delay Measurement for MPLS Networks
o IETF BHH & MPLS-TP drafts
o And many other Broadcom proprietary Features
Company : Alcatel-Lucent,Chennai
Project Title : Development of AOS (Alcatel Operating System) for Alcatel OmniSwitch
products
Duration : August 2006 to July 2007
Team Size : 9
Designation: Software Engineer
Project Description:
Design, implementation, and operational support of VxWorks based embedded
software systems for managing, monitoring and controlling of customized high-speed
