bed next to the window.

and Alissa’s
father are
talking about
Alissa. She’s
looking at
the two men
from the
front door.

4. The fat man is giving some money to
Alissa’s father. Alissa goes to the
city. Her mother is crying

5. The tall man is showing to Alissa her
bedroom. It is small and dark.

6. The tall man’s wife shouts
at Alissa everyday

7. The tall
man takes
Alissa to
another
place
because his
wife doesn’t
like her.

8. Alissa works with other girls at
the workshop of a clothes-shop.

9. The owner of the clothes-shop asks
to Alissa to work at the shop
because she can read, write and
count.

10. Alissa
attends the
rich ladies. A
tall lady
always
smiles at
her.

11. One day the tall lady leaves her
purse at the shop. Alissa runs out
after the woman to give it to her.

12. Alissa is crying. The owner is angry
with her because she leaves the shop.
The tall lady asks Alissa to come with
her to live in her house and go to
school.
