Aurora Borealis
It is a natural light display in the sky, predominantly seen in the high latitude regions. This phenomenon found in

name, aurora borealis, and southern lights are called aurora australis. Researchers have also discovered that
auroral activity is cyclic, peaking roughly every 11 years

2. Lenticular clouds (Altocumulus lenticularis) are stationary lens-shaped clouds that form in the troposphere (the
lowest level of the atmosphere), normally in perpendicular alignment to the wind direction. Because of their shape,
they have been offered as an explanation for some unidentified flying object (UFO) sightings. Pilots of powered
aircraft tend to avoid flying near lenticular clouds because of the turbulence of the rotor systems that accompany
them.

certain chemicals are mixed together. Most of the light created by marine organisms is blue-green in color.

passed. Composed primarily of ice, these cloud pouches can extend hundreds of miles in any direction

5. These rainbow mountains are located in Zhangye Danxia Landform Geological Park, in Gansu Province of China.
The Danxia scenic area in north-west China is a landform of reddish sandstone which has been eroded to create
these unusual rock formations. The unusual colors of the rocks is the result of this red sandstone and mineral
deposits being laid down over 24 million years. The best time to visit Zhangye is from June to September.
Frozen Bubbles
These Methane bubbles form in bodies of water when dead organic matter (leaves and animals) falls into the water
and sinks to the bottom, to the delight of bacteria waiting below. The bacteria munches on the matter and poops out
methane, which turns to white floating blobs when it comes into contact with frozen water.
Light Pillars

6. A light pillar is an atmospheric optical phenomenon in the form of a vertical band of light which appears to extend
above and/or below a light source. The effect is created by the reflection of light from numerous tiny ice
crystals suspended in the atmosphere or clouds. The light can come from the Sun (usually when it is near or even
below the horizon) in which case the phenomenon is called a sun pillar or solar pillar. It can also come from
the Moon or from terrestrial sources such as streetlights
