  6. 6. SOUTHTRADE INTERNATIONAL TheDesign From sketches to the wireframe concepts
  7. 7. From reading the brief, we had some ideas about how the website might function. Sketches are the quickest way to get thoughts on paper and get talking to others about how things might function.
  8. 8. Once we had some core concept sketches we then went to designing the wireframes digitally. Creating the wireframes digitally provides an easy way to see different states you need for the website.
  9. 9. The next process was to print out all the wireframes and stick them up. The UX team then talked over the wireframes, sketched changes and came up with different scenarios for our personas to go through.
  10. 10. Additional refinement was necessary after discussing different scenarios the user can end up in. The final wireframes were brought together and exported to create a working prototype. We then tested this prototype against participants.

  12. 12. Over the course of 3 days, 5 participants tested our initial wireframe prototype. We used screen capturing software to record both on screen, audio and facial expressions. The findings were then documented and any consistent usability issues were addressed.

  14. 14. Ordering of tasks. During development this issue will be solved by sending completed tasks to the end of the list.
  15. 15. Confusion between tasks. “Add a cocktail to the menu” was re- worded to “Update bar menu” and given the category tag of ON PREMISE ACTIVATIONS.
  16. 16. Email notifications. A suggestion was made about creating a weekly round up email, including the current points of the venue, place on the leaderboard and who else is close to the venue in terms of points.
  17. 17. 3 out of 5 users were confused about “Ask the Boozehound”. Once users clicked on the page they quickly realised that it was an FAQ section. A suggested possible solution would be to reword “Ask the Boozehound” to “FAQ’s” and then present the user with “the Boozehound” to answer their questions.
  18. 18. 2 out of 5 users wanted more social interactions. Due to the timeframe of the project I think social integration would be difficult to setup and labelled as “nice to have” but not essential to the project.
