How to upload files using File Manager
To upload a file in File Manager:
1. Log in to cPanel.
2. In the Files section, click File Manager.
3. In the upper right-hand corner, click on Settings.
4. Select Web Root and Show Hidden Files (dotfiles), then click Save
Web Root will take you directly to the folder in your hosting account that is visible to
the world wide web.
This is typically the public_html or www folder and is where your website files will
need to reside.
5. Locate and click the folder where you'd like to upload files.
6. Once inside the folder, click on Upload located at the top toolbar
7. Click Select File (some web browsers will have Choose File instead).
8. Select the file you wish to upload from your computer, then click
the Open button to initiate the uploading process.
9. You may select additional files while the upload is in progress.
Note: There is a 500 MB upload limit through File Manager. If you need to upload a
larger file, please use FTP.
10. The uploaded file should now show in your folder.
After uploading files to your server, you may wish to share them over the internet.

• FTP is a standard internet protocol provided by TCP/IP used for transmitting the files from
one host to another.
• It is mainly used for transferring the web page files from their creator to the computer that
acts as a server for other computers on the internet.
• It is also used for downloading the files to computer from other servers.

Create a new connection: When you start your FTP client, you'll need to

left panel in the FTP client shows your local computer's directories. You can

or drag it from the left panel to the right panel.

STEP 1 Start your Dreamweaver program
STEP 2 First you need to set up your local
site. From the menu choose Site ->
New site.
