BACKGROUND  The new era of the Internet of Things is driving the evolution of conventional Vehicle Networks into the Internet of Vehicles (IoV).  Being in generation of Internet connectivity, there is a need to stay in safe and hassle free environment.  According to recent predictions, 25 billion “things” will be connected to the Internet by 2020, of which vehicles will constitute a significant portion. 2 MIT School Of Telecom Management

THE IDEA EXPLORED  IoV is basically INTERNET of VEHICLES, a strong network between vehicles and living.  IoT is a proposed development of the Internet in which everyday objects have network connectivity, allowing them to send and receive data.  Three Types:-  Vehicles-To-Vehicles  Vehicles-To-Infrastructure  Vehicles-To-Cloud 4 MIT School Of Telecom Management

APPLICATION Vehicles-To-Vehicles:- “the dynamic wireless exchange of data between nearby vehicles that offers the opportunity for significant safety improvements.” e.g.- Car connected to Car, Car connected to Buses, etc Vehicles-To-Infrastructure:- “The wireless exchange of critical safety and operational data between vehicles and highway infrastructure, intended primarily to avoid or mitigate motor vehicle crashes but also to enable a wide range of other safety, mobility, and environmental benefits.” e.g.- Signals, Parking, Bus Stop Vehicles-To-Cloud:- “The storage of information for real time check and assistance of vehicles, public transport, etc” e.g.- Vehicle Database, Accident Information,etc 5 MIT School Of Telecom Management
