Leadership Affecting the Ethics of a Corporation Preventing Innovation Disregarding Rules ►Bureaucratic leaders follow rules, prevent innovation & change ►Employees hide behind outdated rules ►Ethical leaders need to strike a balance ►Autocratic leaders make most of their decisions without input from their subordinates. ►Employees realize that if the leader refuses to follow the rules, they don’t have to either. ►Transformational leaders foster positive relations in a company ►By refraining from activities that don’t support the success of the organization, such as illegal transactions, they inspire employees to do the same ►Democratic leaders focus only on getting work done ►May lead to unethical behavior ►Causes damage to employee morale, productivity and company success Focusing on Work Inspiring Change

Leader must show a wholehearted and public sharing of their ethical position. Ensure ethical concerns business directly or indirectly. A Concern is “How do ethics affect my business & have relevance now and in long term?” Ensure ethics and compliance are integrated into operational decision making i.e. ethics permeates the culture and drives changes in behavior Leaders must maximize their moral or ethical influence. The best starting point is values. Certain values do have a universal appeal “How we get there" is just as critical as “Where do we want to go“- the GOAL The implication is the need to build relationships.
