Win-Win Situation
A joint effort between two or more people,
free from hidden agendas, to produce an
output in response to a common goal or
shared priority.
(Kayser, 2014)
Win-Win in Education
It happens when members of an inclusive learning
community work together as equal to assist students to
succeed in the classroom.
The most valuable resources that all teachers have is
each other. Without collaboration, our growth is limited
to our own perspectives.
True Win-Win situation created its new practices
suggesting that different to just sharing and reflecting.
National Professional Standards for teacher in Pakistan

Trust
Win-win situation is
grounded in trust, share and
strong relationships.
Key words:
Being open to listening
Being non-defensive
Having a genuine interest
Regard for others
Challenging respectfully
Collective Responsibility
• It supports a culture of growth.
• It is critical to enhance the idea to improve
teaching and learning.
Clear purpose
Key question:
How can we improve and what is
needed to do this?
What change will we make to achieve
this?
It is essential as rich collaboration is purposeful
It needs to be an inclusive process that will involve all parties.
Once the purpose and goals are identified, it is critical that everyone in the
group develops a clear strategy for achieving the goals and be able to see
their individual roles in that strategy. (Fullan and Quinn (2016).
Time
Time is an important factor, as collaboration is a
continuous journey and needs to be nurtured and
sustained.
School Leaders set the tone and build a culture of
collaboration, and will acknowledge that discussion
and challenge, the power to travel away
to think and reflect, collect alternative voices, and to
come back ready to build a
collective decision, are processes that each one take
time.
Communication
Enable ideas to be shared and new knowledge to be created and used.
It develop common meaning.
True win-win situation is
permitting everyone to have
an identity and a voice.
The use of digital media to
consolidate common language
and reinforce discussions are
often effective.
Collective inquiry
Defined as the process by which educator build
shared knowledge and learn together.
Collective inquiry that focusses on a
specific area of need, carefully
examines practices and researches
completely different approaches
which will create a difference.
Win-Win Situation is complex and requires deep
understanding and complete commitment to be truly
effective.
Point to remember
Strategies for teacher
• Create a truly shared vision and goals.
• Develop a sense of community.
• Identify group norms.
• Use discussion and dialogue
• Work through conflict
Delegate tasks based on strengths
• When teachers collaborate, the interests,
backgrounds and strengths of each
teacher can contribute to a project.
• If teachers work in a team, they can
delegate tasks according to the personality
and expertise of each team member.
Benefits of teacher collaboration
 Increased academic effort
 Increased understanding
of student data
 More creative lesson plans
 Less teacher isolation
Implications and impact on students achievement
Learning together (Win-win) is a journey that increases confidence and
abilities of all who are deeply involved.
“Most great learning happens in
groups. Collaboration is the stuff of
growth.” (Ken Robinson)
It bring about new learning, a shift in
teaching practice and improved
outcomes for students.
Use technology to connect with colleagues
Technology allows teachers to collaborate nearly employing a variety of on-line
sharing application and platforms.
