 The next state of war- In 1972, the total exports of the
country amounted to only USD 0.36 billion. For the same
year, the imports stood at USD 0.86 billion. Initially, the
imports grew at a high rate over the years, while it took some
time before the exports caught up.
 DAEWOO entered the country-Daewoo first foreign
companies that invested heavily in Bangladesh.
Daewoo trained a large number of youth in the country,
who now had the skills set to be employed in the
manufacturing industry.
-Soon, Bangladesh began to witness a high growth rate of
6%. Bolstered by this high activity,The country began to
bridge the international trade deficit that historically
plagued it.
