children and youth. SNADF was founded by Mr. Syed Nuruddin Ahmed who believes that it
is the duty of a responsible corporate citizen to help others. But more importantly SNADF

SNAD Foundation improves lives of chars people
Syed Nuruddin Ahmed, Managing Director of Maxwell Stamp in
Bangladesh, is working with sufferers of cleft lip and palate
through his work with the Syed Nuruddin Ahmed Development
(SNAD) Foundation. The SNAD Foundation works to improve the
lives of underprivileged woman, children and youth who suffer
from cleft lip and palate, using surgery to improve their facial
features.
Cleft lip and palate are abnormal facial developments that
occur during development in the womb. The causes are complex,
which includes genetics, environmental influences such as poor
maternal diet, as well as vitamin intake. Approximately one in 800
children is born with this condition in Bangladesh.

The solution is nothing but just a simple operation that takes
40 minutes only. Most hospitals in Bangladesh have the capacity
to do the operation. However, it is difficult for poor households
to afford the cost of this operation which needs about Tk-40000
(about £320).
