Hon.TextileMinisterShriPiyushGoyalhasenvisionedanExportofUS$100BillionofTextilegoodsbytheyear 2027fromCurrentaroundUS$40billion. United States is the Largest Importer of Apparels globally, in the year 2022, it has imported nearly US $ 87 Billion, in which China's Share has reduced from 30% in 2019 to 22% in 2022, unfortunately this is largely capturedbyVietnamandBangladesh.Indiahas6%ShareinthisWhereasBangladeshhas11%shareinThis. 2nd Largest Apparel Importer is EU, in Which China's Share has increased marginally by 1% from 29% in 2019, itsnow30%,India'sshareisjust5%andBangladeshhas22%Share. We need to ponder upon this statistics, There is something missing at our end, which Bangladesh and China has. This is something to do with our Marketing Knowledge, Product Knowledge, Technology, Product Innovation, Quality Assurance process and CostingStrategies. Its need of an hour, that we undertake reverse engineering of Textiles goods exported by China and Bangladesh and make a comparative Cost & Qualityassessment,sothatwecanplanwecanreplicateherewhattheyaredoingbest. Thankfully, our Hon. Textile & Commerce Minister Shri Piyush Goyal is taking forward our FTA Agreements with various countries like UK, EU and African Blocks, we already have operational TAs with Australia, UAE, ASEAN etc, we have to capitalized on opportunities arising out of this Trade Agreements. Our SITEX Expo is therefore a perfect platform to evaluate best technologies for a Textile Entrepreneur, we must strive to achieve perfection so thatwecanatleastbeachievingexcellence. I strongly believe that Garmenting is the rising sector for Surat's Textile Industry, As president Chamber, I plan to have multiple Skill Development centre on Garmenting in the remote villages of South Gujarat, which in turn will help flow of constant manpower for this rising sector and will provideamplemeansoflivlihoodforthepeoplelivingtheremotevillagesofourregion. I would like to propose a product development centre at SGCCI with the support of Govt. of Gujarat and Ministry of Textiles, Govt. of India which will actively invest its resources in undertaking reverse engineering of key textile goods in trade in the Global market. I am sure that such an exerciseshallhelpusprepareaproperroadmapinacquiringafarlargershareoftheglobalmarket.
