As presented at Cullinan Studio by Rudi du Plessis in January 2019.
The biggest cost to most businesses, are its people. The second biggest are its premises. The problem is, most buildings aren't designed to benefit the performance of its most expensive asset.
Through improving the indoor environment quality, a business can directly impact the performance, productivity and well-being of its staff. With that in mind - buildings should be capable of providing the best environment for its occupants' well-being and performance - ultimately resulting in the enhanced success of the business operating out of it.
This presentation details the results of the WLP+ project, funded by Innovate UK and led by LCMB in conjunction with Oxford Brookes University.

Summary:
• Many buildings perform poorly
• It is worth investing in improving
IEQ
• Productive buildings →
sustainable buildings
• CO2 – the 8% difference
• Building performance is not a
one-off
• Designers, developers and
occupiers all have a role to play
• Users demand action, poor
buildings are not tolerated
• The most important decisions
are often taken in the worst
environment
